Just got my acceptance email. Who sends an acceptance email at 8:51 on a Saturday night?

Thanks! I'm thinking the acceptance + the fact that it warmed up one degree (to a whopping 14) might be enough to get me out of bed and to the bar to celebrate.arism87 wrote:heh, I got mine at like midnight on a Friday.. couldn't even have a drink to celebrate, certainly didn't need it at that time! Re: Duke 2011 - Priority Track
I just got an email saying I'm on the Priority Reserve list. Is this the equivalent of waitlist?

I think it's a waitlist that puts you in a slightly better position, or that's my understanding from reading the forums. Someone can probably answer better than I can.

While your chances may not be great, I hesitate to rely on LSN as much as TLS does. We have to remember that TLS/LSN aren't necessarily representative samples of the applicant pool. Just sayin'.

Class of 2013
“Admission to Duke was so competitive this year that, for the first time in recent history, the Law School could not extend admission to any student on the waitlist. Applications for admission in 2010 were 25 percent higher than in 2009 (over 7,900 applications), and the admission rate was a record low 13.2 percent.”

My status says "Info required; watch for email." I haven't received any email from them.
I am not in school, so they can't possibly be asking for grades. What's going on?
I guess this could be a good sign. The fact that they bother to ask for additional information means they are at least seriously considering my application, or does it?

Maybe you got in and the info they need is "will you attend Duke Law?"niederbomb wrote:My status says "Info required; watch for email." I haven't received any email from them.

Re: Duke 2011 - Priority Track
I've never heard of them doing this for anyone else. My numbers are only ever slightly above both medians, so I wouldn't consider myself either borderline or a YP risk, although Duke is not my first choice.champsound wrote:Maybe you got in and the info they need is "will you attend Duke Law?"niederbomb wrote:My status says "Info required; watch for email." I didn't write the "Why Duke" essay. I wrote "Why Penn" and "Why Michigan" but couldn't think of anything compelling to write about Duke.

Re: Duke 2011 - Priority Track
They over-enrolled last year, so this year they are using the PR list more. You (We) have a better chance this year than last year to make it off the PR list. Then again, maybe that's just what I'm telling myself!Redsgomarchingon wrote:looking back, apparently no one who got priority reserved got in last year...

In! Just got the email right now. It took all 10 days since my application was complete and I was worried that applying so late would screw me over. Hope to see you all at ASW.

so I spoke with an admissions officer and priority reserve is better than waitlist. It's the first list they go to to fill spots unless someone on the waitlist gets a new score or something that boosts them up significantly.

I got a request for more information related to one of my addenda (my college life wasn't the most moral in the world). At least they didn't throw my app in the dust bin, so I should be hopeful, right?

Did the officer say anything about chances of getting in from it this year?Redsgomarchingon wrote:so I spoke with an admissions officer and priority reserve is better than waitlist. Re: Duke 2011 - Priority Track
well it depends on how many accept their offers. Last year no one got in, but apparently two years ago around 60 people got in. I don't know how many people are on priority reserve so the chances might still be pretty low. Anyway, time to start working on the LOCIcoug11 wrote:Did the officer say anything about chances of getting in from it this year?Redsgomarchingon wrote:so I spoke with an admissions officer and priority reserve is better than waitlist. Dammit! I live in a different time zone, so you're going to make me stay up until 5 a.m. I have only a half day at work tomorrow though. lolklgp09 wrote:I did -- my email came around 5 that same day. In via email today around 5:00 pm.
Definitely was not expecting this. Makes my decision of where to go even more complicated.
