I'm just trying to guess the liklihood that my beautiful purple envelope is sitting in some post office, ready to be delivered tomorrow around 12 pm.

^ I think someone said earlier that last year's admits reported the postmark date, so they didn't actually receive their letters until a couple days later. Here's to hoping the status checkers will get us the info faster!!!

I'm not ED tho so I'm prolly not hearing tomorrow... right?

I really want to get nervous and excited like the rest of you, but I also don't want to gear up for news tomorrow if it's not going to happen. And unfortunately I will be on a plane - to visit Duke! - so there will be a horrifying 5 hour period when I can't get online. I hope the person sitting next to me won't mind when I start to show withdrawal symptoms...

I wish I could cuddle with my Duke acceptance to ease my worries, but sadly, Duke just doesn't hold a candle to NYU for me. I love this city way too much. =/law_monkey wrote:I really want to get nervous and excited like the rest of you, but I also don't want to gear up for news tomorrow if it's not going to happen. Agree, but stoked for starrydreamz! I actually got into duke last year, but decided to reapply and hopefully end up at CLS/NYU. It baffles me how people could leave this city. Here's hoping we both get to make the decision between the Upper West Side and the Village!shanemahsa wrote:Agree, but stoked for starrydreamz! I might be coming out there depending on how my cycle goes (wink wink NYU), but since I've never lived there before I can't really say how I feel about NYC.It baffles me how people could leave this city. Here's hoping we both get to make the decision between the Upper West Side and the Village!

Well, one way is by virtue of not getting accepted into CLS or NYU.starrydreamz3 wrote:It baffles me how people could leave this city. Edit: Oh and I'd totally take the Upper West Side, even if NYU and CLS were to switch locations. I like the hustle and bustle, but not enough to be completely immersed in it 24/7. I'd rather be a subway ride away.

I can't stand the thought of living in nyc, and that's most likely where I will end up. I can easily see how someone would want to leave that city. The people are insufferable.starrydreamz3 wrote:It baffles me how people could leave this city. Ouch. NYers aren't perfect, but you could do a lot worse. I miss the city like whoa. It's the island of misfit toys; you can be as weird as you want there and it's celebrated.CastleRock wrote:I can't stand the thought of living in nyc, and that's most likely where I will end up. If it would pain you so much to go to NYU Law and be *stuck* in the village, I will gladly take your seat. thanks.

Re: NYU 2011
Neither of these two camps make any sense. I'm a native of Brooklyn and current resident of Brooklyn and while it's great in NY, it's also just another city. Many residents are great and many residents are shitty. The only reason I can think of someone NEEDING to live in NY is if they're gay and from a shitty small town where they lacked any sort of meaningful community. Otherwise...ease back on the throttle. It's just a place to live. That said, those who think city residents are "insufferable" sound spectacularly ignorant.

I just like to listen to the crazy people rant on the subways. =D
Show me another city that has commuters quite as entertaining and maybe I'll make a change.
