^ Ha, yes, well, I am generally very minimally snarky, I would even go as far as to say I am overwhelmingly pleasant and helpful on here. Every once in a while though....some people....

Like I said, I honestly don't think there is an index. I think there are threshold numbers. A 177 isn't much more valuable to them than a 169, because both are going to be in their top quartile. Maybe you could argue for a "range" based approach, but that's about it. We all know IU isn't going to even approach a 167 median, so is a 167 any different to how their class numbers will look than a 177?

No.
If they can get the 75th up to 167 a 177 would be better but as far as the median goes, you're right. USNews cares about the 75th so IU does too. Same goes with someone with a good GPA that would drag the 25th LSAT down. Just because a score is over or under the median doesn't mean that other considerations are not made.
Yeah, I agree. Though does usnews use anything other than medians for it's formula? I know they report 25/75, but I thought only medians were used for calculating scores. Not sure there though.

And I'm sure there's a lot more nuance on the margins.

Just medians are used to determine rankings

Has anyone taken any pics of the campus on a visit yet? I'd love to see some shots that aren't set up by a paid photographer. :)

Is IUB really taking 8-10 weeks (6-8 after completion) like their emails are saying? Or are people getting some decisions before that?

up to that timeframe. results vary on usage. Mine took 31 days. Others took fewer days. Still others took longer.

you make me feel great. I applied so late, and haven't gotten the complete email yet, but would love to get a scholarship first!

Yeah, I believe when they send the complete email, that's them meaning they have made a decision.

Oh word? I got my complete email on the 31st. If what you say is correct hopefully I get something in the mail in the next few days! That would be great, because the way my cycle is going its starting to boil down to IUB as my best chance. Fingers crossed!

I just realized they acknoweledge my application was received on 11/22 which was a couple days after I sent it. However, they marked it complete on 12/6  . I should hear soon then... I am kind of an auto-reject though.

Complete email most definitely does not mean they have made a decision. It just means your file is done and ready for them to review.

For instance - I went complete in November and still haven't heard anything...

But if you have above 166 you will probably hear back much quicker.

I hope we hear soon enough. I am getting tired of waiting. The places that I want to attend most are taking the longest to decide. I was complete in early November for another school.

I agree, It's getting to be a really long time and I thought (still think?) I would be fairly competitive...

I think they're really holding out for as many of the 165+ as they can until admitting the rest

I got the application received email on 12/20 and still haven't hear that my application is complete. Does it usually take this long??

I mean it seems it can take up to 2 weeks, but for you it has been way over a month.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
