Keep your hopes up mate, you're next.
I had almost given up on Harvard. But it looks like a few of us early JR1 --> no JR2s are starting to catch a few breaks. Wait it out, it will come.

Have there been any new JR1s recently? It seems like there are way more JR1 -> Hold -> JR2s than Hold -> JR1s...

There have been some new JR1s, but the bulk of JR2s have been people who had their JR1s a long time ago.invisiblesun wrote:Have there been any new JR1s recently? It seems like there are way more JR1 -> Hold -> JR2s than Hold -> JR1s...

as far as I can tell there have been very few new JR1s. but then again people don't tend to advertise the JR1 so much as the JR2.invisiblesun wrote:Have there been any new JR1s recently? It seems like there are way more JR1 -> Hold -> JR2s than Hold -> JR1s...

yea I'd think they would not look too kindly at all on a held applicant coming in for an office visit.lightbulb1986 wrote:congrats to the new admits. Has anyone whose been held visited the law school? How did you make your presence known or communicate your interest to the right people while there? Or should this go in the LOCI?

Re: Held By Harvard Club - 2010
I just received word that I was admitted to a rather prestigious school with which Harvard has a dual degree program. As a held applicant, I am planning on sending this update to the office via snail mail. However, for time's sake, I would also like to email it to the office. Does anyone know if Harvard categorically frowns upon email updates? Somehow I have that impression, but after looking back over the hold email, it doesn't seem entirely clear. Any insights?

If you're doing both, how/where do you recommend noting you've sent a physical copy in the e-mail?Kakarot wrote:E-mail seems to be fine, just do not use any attachments at all. include lsac number and everything...frankjones wrote:I just received word that I was admitted to a rather prestigious school with which Harvard has a dual degree program. Maybe I should have posted this here first.
Held 3/12. Oddly, this has gotten my hopes up (I didn't go complete 'til 1/11). Mailed in LOCI today. Please JR1 come soon!
It feels to me like getting the hold notification, rather than doing anything productive, just ups the anxiety associated with waiting.

Hi all,
I was held on 3/4; anxiously awaiting what is simply bound to be a longer and more painful rejection. Does anyone else find it bizarre that people are continuing to be held well into mid-March?
Good luck to all!

It is crazy they are still sending out holds. Also crazy that there haven't really been any JR1s. Everyone is going to have deadlines before they even know if they're getting an interview.

Clearly, I am very much painfully pining for a JR1, but my realm of delusion aside, I think its reasonable to assume that there are going to be a fair amount of JR1s in the next few weeks. What I don't understand is why it is taking so long and why they need to string so many people along. HLS waitlists an insane number of applicants, like 10 times more than they could ever need. Why? there is really no reason to do it, they could easily cut their waitlist in half and make many people's lives much easier. they waitlist hundreds of people for months that they must know for certain they will never end up admitting.Kronk wrote:It is crazy they are still sending out holds.
