But seriously. I have too many family members who were hit by buses/came down with wholly unexpected diseases when they were young and healthy and are now forever financially screwed, so it's my problem.

$0! Looks like my scholarship application responses incurred the wrath of Johann et al. More money for y'all who actually want to go! The way it should be, really.
I'm withdrawing my acceptance, and I will point them to TLS to find someone to fill my spot.

Jokes aside, I agree with Eugenie 100%.

indeed. take the last fifty lsats. retake in june or october. If you can hit 171, you can very possibly save yourself 150k at NU. or get $$ from uva, mich, etc. Even if you bump up a few points it might save you 60 grand... you have much better prospects than your current options. Also, I would wager that law school applicants continue to drop (slightly) next year.Tiago Splitter wrote:I can understand the desire to get started, but there isn't any reason to be freaked out about the debt since you can still avoid it. I will punch you in the nose if you accept any of your current options. You will start school looking like Jan Brady after she got hit with a football. Retake.

I will be withdrawing within the next 72 hours. I loved you NU, but then Texas did the unthinkable.
I hope my spot goes to one of you still on hold.

Me.... I called the admissions office, and they said all the scholarship offers had gone out, so I'm assuming that means I just have yet to receive a loan-only offer.

Emkay, I don't think I need to say that it's sad to see you go, but I'm still incredibly happy for you. Texas seems like an awesome fit for what you want/your family, and I assume they upped your $$$. FUCK YEAH.

Is there any chance of them offering anything upon negotiation or at a later date. This is really crushing. NU was really my top pick and itll be super hard to justify attending at full tuition.

I tried negotiating with them (even with a higher offer from a higher ranked school) but they wouldn't budget. Seems to be their policy not to negotiate with 0Lsadmisionquestion wrote:admisionquestion wrote:elisterine wrote:AlexGrace wrote:So I didn't want to interrupt the awesome dinner convo on the class of 2015 page lol so... Thanks for the intel. Any other experiences? Has anyone ever successfully negotiated.

Got $0.
Funny, the only schools to give me money at this point are the lowest and highest ranked schools I've gotten into (UCLA and Columbia).

Read this and thought of drag in a different way than you likely intended. It was awesome.
