Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
If you submit a Tuition Deposit Waiver Commitment Form by May 3rd, you won't have to pay any deposit at all (but the form is binding and you're expected to immediately withdraw from all other schools). This is mentioned under the Tuition section on the admitted students website.newyorker88 wrote:Hey guys, how much is the first deposit and when does it have to be paid by? Thanks
Otherwise, it's $400 by May 3 and $800 by June 1.
If I decide to go to GULC, I'll definitely be doing the waiver...

Does this mean that $800 is waived off your 1L tuition or you just don't have to pay that money at that time, but will have to pay for it later?galahad85 wrote:If you submit a Tuition Deposit Waiver Commitment Form by May 3rd, you won't have to pay any deposit at all (but the form is binding and you're expected to immediately withdraw from all other schools). No scholarship email for me and they have also taken my name down in the past as someone who want to be considered for $$. I only have 3 T14 acceptances so $$ will be a major factor.
The adcomm I spoke with and my finaid counselor both said I would be considered for merit aid. Honestly, I was hoping for half-tuition.

I am getting the feeling that they have to have another batch of emails coming out because there are too many of us with high numbers for Georgetown whos names they took down without emails.D Brooks wrote:No scholarship email for me and they have also taken my name down in the past as someone who want to be considered for $$. My theory... I dont believe anyone whos names they have taken down have received the emails.. so maybe the emails are for people who they want to see if they are interested in scholarships, and the people whos names they took down they obviously already know we want to be considered..? This could be disproven by anyone whos name was taken down receiving the email..

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
It doesn't seem like all that many people got the email, and those who did have high #s for GULC. Maybe the interview is for a particular type of scholarship, but there will be more dean's scholarships (or the equivalent) available to those who didn't get the email?D Brooks wrote:No scholarship email for me and they have also taken my name down in the past as someone who want to be considered for $$. You're both probably partially right. maggie, possibly you're being considered for a fully scholly or close to it. I'm a URM splitter with an LSAT above their 75% so I was hoping for at least a little love. I had to interview with an adcomm before being admitted but she said she some very encouraging things after I was admitted making me think I'd get $$. I'm going to the ASW in March so we'll see.
Also, there is no way they are going to interview every person they give merit aid too.

Anyone know exactly when we'll have access to the Yellow Sheet/Form I for finaid? It says mid-Feb on the admitted students site but it's not posted there yet. If it's due by March 1 you'd think they'd give admitted students more time to fill it out.

I got the e-mail and I decided to do the phone interview. It can't hurt I suppose!maggiebre wrote:It doesn't seem like all that many people got the email, and those who did have high #s for GULC. Did anyone in here get the hold/postponement email in mid-December? It said I would be notified by 2/26. Anyone in this situation received a decision yet?

Is it safe to assume if I haven't been asked to interview yet that I won't be?

Just so I'm clear, this interview chatter is for people who were admitted a long time ago, right? Man, this thread is confusing to follow, lol. So much going on.ndirish2010 wrote:Is it safe to assume if I haven't been asked to interview yet that I won't be?

I got that same email, just a little later in the cycle (1/7). I'm still sitting at UR (1/19), and I doubt that's going to change until the 26th. But in answer to your larger question, yes, I think I remember some people who were held getting decisions a few weeks back.LieutKaffee wrote:Did anyone in here get the hold/postponement email in mid-December? No, the interview is for borderline applicants whose UR is still pending (I interviewed back in Dec and I'm still pending).LieutKaffee wrote:Just so I'm clear, this interview chatter is for people who were admitted a long time ago, right? Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
some of it is for people under consideration for a scholarship, and some of it is about people like me who haven't received a decision yet. I received an interview request on 1/28 and am back under review as of today.LieutKaffee wrote:Just so I'm clear, this interview chatter is for people who were admitted a long time ago, right? Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Hm, what sort of borderline applicants are receiving interview requests? I thought my numbers were going to sail into GULC until I was put on hold. Should I be discouraged that my Hold hasn't been followed by an interview request? Is 172/3.62 borderline?xcountryjunkie wrote:No, the interview is for borderline applicants whose UR is still pending (I interviewed back in Dec and I'm still pending).LieutKaffee wrote:Just so I'm clear, this interview chatter is for people who were admitted a long time ago, right? I'm 3.66/168, which is pretty borderline (almost everyone with around those stats on LSN has been WL), so I was really hoping for an interview.

I'm suppppeerrrr borderline. I fully expect to be waitlisted if that. And I don't deserve any better than that, either... I just went to lsn to look for numbers and it looked like everyone with my LSAT was getting in, regardless of GPA. Then I realized I was looking at GW.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Wow I just looked at LSN and indeed everyone with 172 is sailing into Georgetown. I'm still not sure why my decision was postponed. Then again, this wouldn't be my first time hearing something way worse than LSN predicts. Go to NYU's graph and see if you can guess which red dot is mine
. I have to assume it's my retake that is causing my numbers to underperform. I'd hate to think it's my PS/LOR.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
