Spoke too soon. Waitlisted. Sending some serious luck to all still waiting. This has been cruel, but reading this feed has been a huge help

Hey all, I'm wondering from the offers you've received, is it still the case that your Dean's Scholarships will be reduced by 50% in your 3L year if you do a 2L SA?

Yes. It's not exactly a 50% reduction but close.

Didn't you get a six digit offer from Penn?

Penn is great, and I'll be happy there, but I really wanted NYU. When I started this whole process nearly two years ago I had my eyes on NYU. When I got my LSAT score i told my SO we would be moving to Manhattan within a year. It's just really disappointing.

I will have to agree with Sybill here: it is easy to have disjointed expectations at a place filled with high achievers such as these threads, but 120k at Penn is an amazing offer. If the school impressed you after your visit, put down the deposit and don't look back (unless HLS says hey).

Also I am still UR since 11/22. Just below median GPA and just above median LSAT.

I am sorry to hear this and I understand. I'm going to just say one thing here. Center City is awesome, Philly is not far at all from NYC, and you'll most certainly land a job in New York after graduation; most of their graduates take the NY bar, anyway. And Penn has excellent employment numbers, smaller class sizes and nicer people. NYU will take you off of its waitlist and throw two nickels at you which you can't even rub together because you'll have to use it toward your COL expenses in the most expensive city in America.

There are more pluses than minuses here, and while any one of us is upset when things do not go our way, you can push forward knowing that you ain't got it that bad after all. Rooting for you regardless but I hope you realize how lucky you are, friend.

I don't understand why you bother with me at this point. I don't care at all about anything that you have to say, you are irrelevant to my life and I don't want anything to do with you on here. I stay out of your way and you came to defend somebody you've probably never spoken to just to say something to me? And he can whine but I can't whine about his whining? & lots of people have told me to be thankful, and I certainly don't react to it negatively.

You really need to worry about your damn self and stop watching everything I post. Fuck the hell off already.

Quoting as a fine NYU worthy example of maturity and impulse control.

Ya, Rigo, not trying to be involved in any TLS drama, but Sybil's post was genuinely trying to make the other person feel better.

The constant mining for stats and finagling people to withdraw just gets tiresome.
