Wait so do we no longer have a consensus about admits being emailed and not snail mailed for this batch?

Haha, that's funny because I can almost say the same to NYU. 7 months and not a single word!TheWire wrote:DISCLAIMER: Full-blown trolling:
Dear Columbia,
You are a pretentious B**ch if I've every seen one. You send meaningless invites (fee waivers) to dudes you wouldn't considering banging in your sleep. You love the attention, phone calls, and love letters you receive daily. You pull us along on a string just because you can...because we're pathetic enough to dream of spending our nights with you. Although your location and connections will keep you looking pretty for many years...I will never consider dating you or allowing any of my children to do so either. You will never receive a penny of my future fortune, and I will be a dedicated member of your local competitor's family.
Summary: Fu*K you Columbia...

I think admits are e-mailed, but it's unclear if there will be any more admits.shanemahsa wrote:Wait so do we no longer have a consensus about admits being emailed and not snail mailed for this batch?

Re: Columbia 2010
I believe admits are still by e-mail and reserves/rejections are not based on correspondence from CLS this month and last year at this time.shanemahsa wrote:Wait so do we no longer have a consensus about admits being emailed and not snail mailed for this batch?

Just called them, my letter was mailed on the 19th. She wasn't best pleased by my call.

Re: Columbia 2010
Hey guys, I got a letter in the mail (dated 4/19) placing me in a "Reserve" group. This is after being placed in a "Hold" group back in February. My numbers are below both quartiles. I am not a URM. Is this some sort of sick joke or is there actually a scenario that they could conceive of admitting me? There isn't even data anywhere near my would-be point on LSN. Have any "Hold" applicants been subsequently rejected at this point?

Amazing. Only one recorded admit from regular hold a few weeks ago. No admit from hold batch. CLS's yield must have been very high this time around...

Reserve is usually a soft reject, but there's always a slim chance of acceptance.tesoro wrote:Hey guys, I got a letter in the mail (dated 4/19) placing me in a "Reserve" group. I knew that I should have voted against Columbia in all of those TLS polls!

For those you that applied in January and weren't held, have you heard back yet? I just wonder why Columbia is waiting this long to reject me.

Re: Columbia 2010
The good people at the Admissions Office emailed back and, as almost anyone could have guessed (by now), promptly refused to let me in on their decision. But at least I was thanked for my continued interest...
...you've really forced me to remain interested, Columbia.

Empty mailbox in CA. Btw, idk about your hold letter, but mine didn't say they'd get the decision out by today; instead, it said that I will receive a decision no later than today.Joan Hollaway wrote:so any other empty mailbox today in bklyn, i guess since they promised to get their decision out by today i should be expecting a reserve tomorrow

Re: Columbia 2010
did you get the follow up email cause in that they said they would try to get the decisions out on the day indicated in my hold letter so im giving them the benefit of the doubt. really hoping to get some closure by friday but i think if we didnt get an email by today were heading for the reserve pile.shanemahsa wrote:Empty mailbox in CA. Same here (NY). I imagine it means we are all reserve/rejections. So much for that day that was not the day...shanemahsa wrote:Empty mailbox in CA. Re: Columbia 2010
No, they've been disconcertingly quiet with me. I never got that email, nor one asking for a LOCI. Dang, I'm disappointed because I can't figure out if it was because of my numbers, or because I applied late, or because I screwed up royally on some part of my app.Joan Hollaway wrote: did you get the follow up email cause in that they said they would try to get the decisions out on the day indicated in my hold letter so im giving them the benefit of the doubt. really hoping to get some closure by friday but i think if we didnt get an email by today were heading for the reserve pile.

Yeah, except I haven't heard a word from them since I went complete on 2/18. Wonder if I should call CLS/NYU tomorrow.Genki wrote:I guess its NYU for me then.
