Sorry to hear about all the recent rejects. Did any of you receive the "held" email/decision back in January?

I don't think that NYU held anyone, it was just crickets. Columbia held people in January, if I'm not mistaken. I'm not 100% on this though.

Kind of had a crap cycle to be honest, only acceptance in Top 15 is Texas, WL's everywhere else despite extra letters and other stuff like that. Most likely launching a new company in the next week and reapplying next cycle if it doesn't take off and/or I don't get in somewhere from a WL.

AAAHHHH just discovered a glaring typo in the LOCI I sent to NYU like two months ago. Nothing like putting in the wrong school name or anything, just a big glaring grammatical error. meant to write "with graduation fast approaching" but in one draft had written "while graduation is fast approaching" and managed to send out one that said "with graduation is fast approaching..." AHHHHHH pure moron alert. The thing that kills me is I read that letter FIVE TRILLION TIMES. how bad do you all think this looks for me? (my numbers are borderline, kind of expecting waitlist.) I'm trying to tell myself that this is not a make it or break it error, that the mere fact of sending in an LOCI is probably just as important as its content, but I feel like a total and pure idiot. blech.

Don't worry about the typo. I once read the personal statement of a YLS student that had a typo in the last sentence. We're only human.

Nope, everyone has only 1 review date (admits included)...then you go straight to decision letter sent.

it seems everyone's getting rejections via email, is anyone getting wait listed by email? does decision letter sent mean a purple envelope?

To my knowledge, a large batch of WL emails will come out all within a few days of eachother (typically in late April.)

I think acceptances have more or less stopped, but previously yes, DLS with no email = admit.

I was an ED deferral (UR 12/15) -- decided to accept a full ride to Cardozo's January entry program (and am finishing up first semester now). Not sure what would be the procedure in the unlikely event I get in...Start over? Turn it into a transfer?
