Several people on this thread have been UR for a month or more, so I wouldn't expect that quick of a turnaround. Myself, I've been UR since 1/7

I checked my status about 6 days before I received my letter, and it still said complete. Which means it was UR and DR for less than a week. So sometimes there is a pretty quick turnaround.

note: GULC is not in the same location as the rest of Georgetown University. Its near Union Station so you might have some luck looking for a 1 or 2BR on Capitol Hill. Lots of cute rowhouses and some are relatively affordable. GULC is on the red line, so you could also look at Woodley Park or Cleveland Park, both areas with lots of young families.

Can you define "pretty cheap"? What should I be expecting to pay for an apartment? I'm from an area where $400 for a nice 2 bedroom is pretty steep, so I'm sure I'm going to have a heart attack every time I pay the rent.

It makes moving hard...especially when so far my acceptances are in pretty expensive areas .

If you want to be in the city and not in a really shitty area, on the low end i think your looking at about 1100 for a one-bedroom

They send you an email with a username and a password.

You can request the username and password before you have heard anything and if it emails it to you that means your accepted. At least, that's how I found out.

Congratulations again on your acceptance to Georgetown Law. It was a pleasure reading your application, and I sincerely hope to welcome you as part of our terrific community. We know you will add considerably to the vibrancy, diversity and academic excellence of the Law Center.

We also know that financing a law school education can often appear challenging. Therefore, because of your academic achievements and other credentials, you are among a select group of our top admitted students that the Scholarship Committee is considering for possible merit scholarship funding. The merit scholarship process is our effort to consider holistically - just as we did when we reviewed your application for admission - how best to award merit scholarships. This year, in order to get a better sense of you, your goals, your desire to attend Georgetown Law and the reasons you believe you should be awarded a scholarship, Alumni Scholarship Interviewers will be conducting phone interviews. If you are genuinely interested in being considered, please email us at hoyas10@law.georgetown.edu by February 15th. In that email, we ask that you tell us the day you prefer to be interviewed between February 18th and February 26th, and whether you prefer morning or afternoon. We will then contact you to let you know when your interview has been scheduled. The information we gather from these interviews will aid the Scholarship Committee in its final decisions.

In advance of the interview, you are welcome to make part of your email any additional information you would like the Committee to consider including, if applicable, any other scholarship offers you have received thus far and how much scholarship funding you would require to attend Georgetown, and why you feel Georgetown Law is a particularly good fit for you. After all phone interviews have been conducted, the Scholarship Committee will review applications and make initial scholarship awards by March 2, 2010. Please keep in mind that this process is only for those who are truly interested in attending Georgetown Law. If you are selected and accept a scholarship offer from Georgetown Law, you will be required to withdraw all applications and decline all offers from other law schools.

You should note that scholarships awarded through this process are just one part of what should be an overall approach to financing your Georgetown education. We strongly encourage you to apply for need-based assistance through the Financial Aid Office (http://www.law.georgetown.edu/finaid/) and to research other options for funding.
