In all seriousness, good luck with getting off the WL. If they went by excitement and desire you would have it on lock.

No one invites you because it just reminds us that you won't be there come August. It hurts too much.Ricky-Bobby wrote:I have to remind all of you occasionally, because ya'll just keep making plans to go out and never invite the old guy from across the crick.peachesthedoge wrote:Ricky-Bobby wrote:So much for positive thinking.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
I received the same email today.rion91 wrote:
We want to keep you updated on the status of your application because we understand you are facing difficult decisions right now. As you know, you have been placed on the waitlist for Washington University School of Law.
We appreciate your interest in attending. Unfortunately, the admissions committee is now confident that they will not be able to re-consider your application until after our June 1st second deposit deadline.
We understand that many schools have deposit deadlines in the near future and we want to be sure you are fully informed so that you do not miss the opportunity to secure your seat at other schools.
If you wish to withdraw your application from consideration in light of this information, please do so by responding to this email.
I wish I had better news for you right now. Although the admissions committee is not currently able to admit you from the waitlist, they are impressed with your application. If you attend another school in the fall of 2014, we do invite you to consider transferring to Washington University School of Law as a 2L. We will begin accepting applications for transfer admission by January 2015.
Couple thoughts...
1. Does this mean that they made a round of WL admits after April 15?
2. The wording is pretty strong. Did anyone else get an update that was worded more optimistically?

Don't worry, Ricky.

I realized after I posted that that your face was already on Brad's body, so I changed it to Angelina, which is basically like having Brad Pitt anyway.

does anybody remember the whole "you can get your $300 (first deposit) back if you inform us in writing before May 1 (I think that was the date)"? I can't find this on their website but i remember people talking about it ITT. Thinking about withdrawing and it'd be nice to get that money back.

Only for people who specifically got the email. Doesn't hurt to just call and ask if you can get a refund, though. (Although it might be more effective to request a scholarship increase and see if they offer a refund when they deny--but that is playing the long game and would be kinda shitty if you wouldn't actually go there even with an increase).thywizardofwit wrote:does anybody remember the whole "you can get your $300 (first deposit) back if you inform us in writing before May 1 (I think that was the date)"? Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
I think what he's talking about specifically though is a conversation we had on here a month or so ago about it. To which the answer is there is no refund (unless you've specifically been told.) The wording on the website was confusing because some of the info, a la a refund by May 1st, was from last cycle.yossarian71 wrote:Only for people who specifically got the email.
