I wish I had better news for you right now. Although the admissions committee is not currently able to admit you from the waitlist, they are impressed with your application. If you attend another school in the fall of 2014, we do invite you to consider transferring to Washington University School of Law as a 2L. We will begin accepting applications for transfer admission by January 2015.

I received the same email today.

Couple thoughts...

1. Does this mean that they made a round of WL admits after April 15?

2. The wording is pretty strong. Did anyone else get an update that was worded more optimistically?

Only for people who specifically got the email. Doesn't hurt to just call and ask if you can get a refund, though. (Although it might be more effective to request a scholarship increase and see if they offer a refund when they deny--but that is playing the long game and would be kinda shitty if you wouldn't actually go there even with an increase).

I think what he's talking about specifically though is a conversation we had on here a month or so ago about it. To which the answer is there is no refund (unless you've specifically been told.) The wording on the website was confusing because some of the info, a la a refund by May 1st, was from last cycle.
