Unless you are getting the 150K ED scholly or the $150k 1-year forced deferral scholly, no one has gotten scholarship info yet. Late March, we are expecting...so next week?KaleidoscopeEyes wrote:So, I have to admit I haven't followed this thread at all and I applied on literally the last day possible here. No one has received financial aid info yet. If you haven't already you need to submit the NeedAccess and FAFSA forms, as well as the Northwestern financial aid form available on their website.KaleidoscopeEyes wrote:So, I have to admit I haven't followed this thread at all and I applied on literally the last day possible here. I would imagine that people with pending interviews will have pending decisions as well.fingerscrossedxx wrote:Sooo, what about those holds that have scheduled interviews? Are they going to hold off on accepting us till we have them so I shouldnt bother getting my hopes up? (mine's early next week)

Congrats! Did you have any soft factors that could make up for no WE? Did they talk about that in the interview, did you write about it elsewhere, etc.?gatorapplicant wrote:got in via email a few hours ago, i'm SO happy! i was a hold candidate and interviewed the 2nd week of march. no work experience. good luck to everyone waiting to hear!! i'm 99% sure i'll be at northwestern in the fall!
I'm curious why they give the deferred acceptance to some (me) and not to others.

i've had some good internship experiences (spent a semester working full-time abroad, also a few summer positions) that i think helped me a lot. i discussed those during the interview and sent additional, work-related LORs. the 150k deferral is a pretty sweet deal though, congrats on that offer!StrictlyBusiness wrote:Congrats! Probably because you have kick ass numbers, and others don't.StrictlyBusiness wrote:Congrats! Did you have any soft factors that could make up for no WE? not necessarily. I think the bold is what got you in this year, again congrats.gatorapplicant wrote: i've had some good internship experiences (spent a semester working full-time abroad, also a few summer positions) that i think helped me a lot. i discussed those during the interview and sent additional, work-related LORs. the 150k deferral is a pretty sweet deal though, congrats on that offer!
My question was directed at why they chose to accept (without deferral) those ~5% that enter without work experience, not why I was accepted in general. It seems like they have a minimum requirement of experience needed to accept without deferral that is completely separate from LSAT/GPA.bdubs wrote: Probably because you have kick ass numbers, and others don't.
Not at all complaining about the deal they offered me, just trying to get inside the head of these admissions people.

In an interview (I think it was Van Zant) they mentioned that a really high gpa or LSAT score could overcome the WE "requirement"StrictlyBusiness wrote:I think the bold is what got you in this year, again congrats.gatorapplicant wrote: i've had some good internship experiences (spent a semester working full-time abroad, also a few summer positions) that i think helped me a lot. i discussed those during the interview and sent additional, work-related LORs. the 150k deferral is a pretty sweet deal though, congrats on that offer!
