Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
Any movement for anyone? Sounds like a batch of regular application rejections is going out today. I'm holding steady at DR 12/14. I visited BU this weekend and really didn't like it. WUSTL I like but it poses some serious regional issues. With a 3.5, 169 I am considering maybe taking another year if Cornell doesn't take me. Next year can't possibly be worse than this one... right?

i think competitive will have peaked this year. isn't the economy picking back up or at least not getting any worse?jks289 wrote:Any movement for anyone? Cornell says that applications have increased by 52% from last year (http://cornellsun.com/section/news/cont ... 52-percent).jks289 wrote:Any movement for anyone? There is no way any year can be as competitive as this one....wish I was born a couple years earlier or later.

Or earlier . . . then you could have been getting out of LS just as the market was peaking (hopefully you'd have something secure when it tanked though)Rayjay wrote:There is no way any year can be as competitive as this one....wish I had been born a couple years later.

That's strange; I wonder what it means. That they pulled your file for review, perhaps?jc631 wrote:My status changed today from DR as of 11/20 to Early Action Complete as of 11/20... anyone else?

Hey najumobi, if you did get into Cornell and had to pay sticker would you really consider taking them over your scholly money from Wustl??najumobi wrote:yep looking like they're finally reviewing EA deferred applicants.

Yes, sounds like they have pulled your applications. Good luck! I am still DR 12/4 so I guess I am destined to be the last application reviewed this cycle.Rayjay wrote:For me as wellbeamsmehome wrote:+1Teoeo wrote:Woah me too !!jc631 wrote:My status changed today from DR as of 11/20 to Early Action Complete as of 11/20... anyone else?

It just wasn't for me. It felt like everyone was young and very fratty. From the discussion in the BU thread it's obvious that people had VERY different experiences. Some agreed with me, others loved it and felt like there were lots of older and mature students. I think it is part personality match, part maybe I just got stuck in a bad group. I haven't made a final decision though.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
i would lean towards going with cornell at sticker. i'm also waitlisted at vandy which i think i actually have a realistic chance of getting off and would lean towards going with vandy at sticker as well. i think i would have reservations about choosing either at sticker b/c my mom would be pissed at me if i didn't take the money.jockinjay-z wrote:Hey najumobi, if you did get into Cornell and had to pay sticker would you really consider taking them over your scholly money from Wustl??najumobi wrote:yep looking like they're finally reviewing EA deferred applicants.

Re: Cornell EA Deferred Crew
Its funny that you say that because I had a very different experience when I visited. I was shocked by how old and nerdy people looked (not to say that fratty and nerdy are antonyms).jks289 wrote:robotoroboto wrote:yikes--what didn't you like about BU (besides the building)?jks289 wrote:Any movement for anyone? Woah, you and I have identical #s also - wonder if they pulled a bunch with similar numbers and we are all competing for a spot or two...
