Haha April 17-19.

April 16 is Minority Preview Day.
Knew I could count on you.
Always a pleasure.

The fact that I'm almost leaning toward Stanford now is an indication of how on-the-fence I am

Also, FYI, the Stanford gays really roll out the red carpet for the minority preview. Last year, the dinner was followed by drinks at a current student's place, followed by a late night trip to the Castro bar/clubs (they're not really one or the other).

FWIW, 71 degrees and sunny in DC today. This is the only day! Gotta appreciate it while it lasts.

Yeah, LGBT folks of color are generally left out of (or marginalized) in many parts of the LGBT community. Nothing like being a minority within a minority!.... :?

It's one of the things I hate most about the Denver gay community (and really, the community in general), along with rampant hatred toward folks who aren't "the right kind of gay."

You guys are bringing up important social fissures, but I was just referring to the dilemma of salsa dancing with SLLSA or Castro-ing it with the outlaws lol

lol, sure, sure, and I wasn't trying to imply that Stanford Outlaws is some racially insensitive organization either, I was just talking with a friend about this topic recently and my mind jumped to it :P

I submitted mine way back on 12/3. I guess they were really on the fence about me. Not that I care one bit now that I'm in.

Any word on financial aid recently? I got a call from the financial aid office about a week and a half ago asking for clarification on my need access form. I asked when the first wave should hear back and was told "soon, probably a couple weeks." So... anything?

I got the same call yesterday, but she didn't give me a deadline for the packages.

JUST GOT MY FINANCIAL AID AWARD.

I'm honestly in shock. I expected to get nothing. PM for details, but needless to say, I'll most likely be sending my deposit today.

I'm shaking with excitement. Oh. My. God.

I just got mine too. But I still haven't set up my account or anything yet to access it, this was really fast considering how recently I got in.

When did you get all of your stuff in? Also, did they ever send any confirmation after receiving all of your paper work?

(p.s. Yay money! :D)

I sent my things in ridiculously early, around January 30 (thanks, UChicago deadline!). Sent my independence form the day they came online, but I can't remember the exact date.

No confirmation of anything.

And YAY money!
