Awesome, thanks for the help!! About how long does it usually take to hear back after the interview? I plan on getting it done this week and was just wondering if there's a typical response time after that stage.tx_1427 wrote:I'm in state and interviewed in December and saw other Texans receive the request as well so it's not unusual. It's a super simple interview with basic questions (think about why law, why UT, etc.). Don't worry about it and good luck!sophiap5 wrote:I just received an interview request, I’m in state so I wasn’t expecting this, how common has it been? Texas is (obviously) my top choice and I just don’t know what to expect or how to take this. I’ve only applied to other Texas schools (and UW) so I’m not familiar with interviews or anything like that. I’m trying to take it as a good sign but I’m also really nervous.

Just did the interview.
The questions were
what was my favorite class or favorite professor in college
What other interest are you passionate about
When did you decide to become a lawyer and why Law

Per the poll in this thread, at least two people have been rejected after interviewing. It does seem like a solid majority of those who interview are admitted, though.urmlaw17 wrote:Has anyone been rejected after Texas interview?

While the aura of invincibility is gone, the odds still look pretty favorable.urmlaw17 wrote:Contango wrote:Per the poll in this thread, at least two people have been rejected after interviewing. I wonder why those two were rejected. I'm just weird because I botched my first question lolwmbuff wrote:While the aura of invincibility is gone, the odds still look pretty favorable.urmlaw17 wrote:Contango wrote:Per the poll in this thread, at least two people have been rejected after interviewing. I am OOS and got it last week. I was also in the first week of decisions for OOS RD so it's probably chronological.saltshaker wrote:Have OOSers received their scholly info yet?

App complete 1/11, got an interview request 1/17 and completed it yesterday. The waiting game begins... Didn't think I did amazing but also didn't totally bomb it (writing section...didn't finish sentence before it cut me off
).
Is it a good sign to be invited to interview so quickly? Anybody have any clue on when I might expect to hear something??

I was invited the day after I applied but didn't get in for a month or so--they appear to be sending acceptances in the order in which the apps are received (I've only seen two exceptions). So I'd suggest watching LSN and here and see when other folks who applied in late Dec/early Jan. get in--you'll probably be soon after them if you're in on their first round of review.legallyjamesblonde wrote:Is it a good sign to be invited to interview so quickly? Other hand, I was in the first week for OOS RD decisions (I think, week of 12/17), and haven't heard anything either positive or negative.rachelac wrote:I am OOS and got it last week. From what I saw either on here or on Reddit, can't remember which, they do send emails saying people got $0, so no notification is not a denial by any means. Apparently some of the emails said they're waiting a while to make full scholarship decisions, which really got my hopes up and which I'm kind of upset I know.doublepug wrote:also was first week for OOS RD and heard nothing yet. hoping they will send more soon or at least notify me if its $0jdm1634 wrote:Other hand, I was in the first week for OOS RD decisions (I think, week of 12/17), and haven't heard anything either positive or negative.rachelac wrote:I am OOS and got it last week. As we head towards the February scholarship reconsideration, which schools would you guys think UT considers peers for scholarship comparison?

Direct peers, probably Vandy, Georgetown, UCLA, and perhaps Cornell. WashU I would imagine probably has some pull but maybe not as much as the direct peers. Any school higher than Cornell, especially the T6, Duke and UVA, I imagine have a ton of pull.GasparLeGecko wrote:As we head towards the February scholarship reconsideration, which schools would you guys think UT considers peers for scholarship comparison?
