+1
Hoping we can chalk up the wait time to their holistic review process though. They do have the disclaimer that some apps take longer based on their individual-oriented approach.

Yep! My status checker went straight from complete to decision mailed . Took an hour or two for the email to get to me. No seat deposits or anything.

How are you in shock? You'll probably end up at a T10, easily.

what does your status say? complete or UR? similar situation. mine says complete and hasn't changed but I interviewed. I'm curious whether the status changes at all for Vandy when under review or not and not sure if I should be concerned that mine hasn't changed at all.

Mine went straight from complete to decision mailed with no date changes or anything. Never said under review for me.

I talked to the admissions office at Vandy and they said they only have 3 status situations. File received, file complete, and decision made.

Thanks guys, that makes me feel a little better. Been "complete" for so long, I interviewed, and submitted the scholars program application that I was starting to worry. I guess I'd rather them keep thinking about my app then give me an expedited rejection lol I hope that it doesn't end up being bad news. Good luck to everyone in a similar situation!

Is it weird if I send the admissions a Why Vandy now if I submitted on 1/9? I made a decision to apply after the interview system was closed, so I think it may be a good idea as they're one of my top choices. That being said, I don't want them to be like, "Why are you sending random documents, so annoying," etc. Has anyone else done this or know of anyone who has?

I don't think a Why X essay could ever be considered too much. Use discretion, obviously. Don't go ham lol. Sending them a Why X essay is flattering to them, I would think.

Since you're obviously going to Yale or Harvard why not go ahead and preemptively decline the merit award so one of us plebeians can benefit from it

Did the Vandy app have a "why vandy?" Optional essay? I can't remember.

No, I don't think so. You could add one if you wanted.

Vandy is killing me. Interviewed mid-november. Submitted 12/30. Complete 1/4 and nothing since. Do Vandy apps just never go to UR? Or are they extraordinarily slow?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
