So it turns out that the length of our waits are meaningless.

That was the most pertinent information I learned lol. The counseler said it just depends on who gets your file and what their workload is like in and out of the admissions office. They pretty much get to your file when they get to it.Lucyfur wrote:What did you learn??ProductofUnreality wrote:So it turns out that the length of our waits are meaningless.
Also Dean Schwartz is a nice guy and they expect to send scholarship info out at the end of the month.

That's kind of what I figured with our USC wait. It seems like our applications are being reviewed by the same group since we have the same review dates, and they are much slower than the other group(s) reviewing apps hahaProductofUnreality wrote:That was the most pertinent information I learned lol. Re: UCLA Law c/o 2019 (2015-2016)
Waitlist yesterday. LSAT below the 25th, GPA above the 75th.
The Admissions Committee has reviewed your application for fall 2016. While you are not admitted at this time, the Admissions Committee is sufficiently impressed by your qualifications to place you on our wait list.
Applicants have not been placed in specific order on the wait list. Your chance of being admitted is difficult to predict at this time, as it will depend on the number of admitted students who accept our offer of admission. We will contact you immediately when we are able to make a definite decision in your case. Some applicants will remain on the wait list until the first day of classes in mid-August.
Please complete and submit the Waitlist Intention Form to let us know if you would like to remain on our wait list. We advise that you read the Waitlist FAQs on the form prior to submission. We must receive this form within two weeks from the date of this letter. Please notify us in writing of any future changes in your contact information so that we may notify you of any change in your status. We may be reached at admissions@law.ucla.edu.
We appreciate your patience with this process and thank you for your interest in UCLA School of Law.

I hope so! I'm stuck between USC and UCLA and how much $$ is offered will be a huge factor in my decision. When do they usually send out schollly info?jumbo2016 wrote:Hopefully some scholly info rolls out this week!!

I'd say you are having a pretty good cycle either way just looking at the stats.lawyergirl94 wrote:Waitlisted today via email!

Looks like the one person who got an offer on Feb 6 was a deferral from the previous year. I think that means the first wave for standard applicants was Feb 24.gryffinclaw wrote:Thanks! Better go check my mailjumbo2016 wrote:Last year it looks like the first ones went out on February 6th

Generally speaking, a little less but that's just my brief understanding from reading last years' threadsgryffinclaw wrote:Does anyone know how generous UCLA is with $$ compared to USC?

Not sure but I'd imagine not as generous...they're cheaper and have a better ranking.gryffinclaw wrote:Does anyone know how generous UCLA is with $$ compared to USC?

Re: UCLA Law c/o 2019 (2015-2016)
So, maybe they are as generous or close to as generous factoring in USC's (ridiculous) cost? Meaning UCLA could offer $30K less but it would be the equal equivalent since USC costs 30K more? (assuming you are an out-of-state student who gets in-state after year 1)Lucyfur wrote:Not sure but I'd imagine not as generous...they're cheaper and have a better ranking.gryffinclaw wrote:Does anyone know how generous UCLA is with $$ compared to USC?

Yeah, you'd have to look at % of tuition rather than $ amount.oh lawd wrote:So, maybe they are as generous or close to as generous factoring in USC's (ridiculous) cost?
