Super clear from LSN that they are paying much more $$$ for high GPAs than high LSATs. Is that normal for USC?

I think it's partially just that there's a diminishing return once you are over the 75th LSAT (I.e. It doesn't matter whether you have a 168 or 171)larsy91 wrote:Super clear from LSN that they are paying much more $$$ for high GPAs than high LSATs. Is that normal for USC?

Why do you say that? A 171 is better for their stats than a 168, especially if they want to raise their 75%.urbanist11 wrote:I think it's partially just that there's a diminishing return once you are over the 75th LSAT (I.e. Well sure but they would have to get enough to shift their quartiles, which is unlikelyProductofUnreality wrote:Why do you say that? But why is that any different than GPAs?urbanist11 wrote:Well sure but they would have to get enough to shift their quartiles, which is unlikelyProductofUnreality wrote:Why do you say that? Re: USC c/o 2019 Applicants Thread (2015-2016)
They're absolutely doing this. My LSAT is much higher than 171 and I didn't get much money presumably because the gpa is a couple hundredths under the median. I'm expecting more $$ from some lower t14s than I got hereurbanist11 wrote:I think it's partially just that there's a diminishing return once you are over the 75th LSAT (I.e. Maybe cuz there are more high GPA candidates than high LSAT candidates? And USC assumes the 170+ will be headed to other schools? Pure speculation!ProductofUnreality wrote:But why is that any different than GPAs?urbanist11 wrote:Well sure but they would have to get enough to shift their quartiles, which is unlikelyProductofUnreality wrote:Why do you say that? Went "complete" on 11/4 and nothing has changed since. Seems surprising to me that I am not even under review yet. Anybody else in the same boat?

On the flip side, I received big money from them because of my high GPA and mediocre LSAT. Even my safety schools that are ranked in the 80s offered me less money than USC. This could definitely be a trend.pppp wrote:They're absolutely doing this. Per the status checker, my decision was finalized on 2/9. I haven't received any decision! Is anyone else on the same boat?

I went complete 10/21 and didn't go UR till 1/20. I'm now at UR2 and have been there since 1/25. USC is the only school I haven't heard back from yet, even Penn, where I applied a month later.happywednesday0000 wrote:Went "complete" on 11/4 and nothing has changed since. My application went to 2nd committee review again. It went second committee review 6 weeks ago and then had a date change now with the same status. What the heck?
