I was surprised too. Good luck on your application. I hope you hear back soon!

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
I sent Duke an email basically asking for a PT invite (expressing how interested I am in Duke) and they outright rejected it, saying it takes a lot of time to review PTs and they don't send out many invites. I don't understand why I didn't qualify for a PT invite and what that says about my application strength. I'm from the Carolinas, I'm above both 75ths, and Duke is basically my top choice. I realize I'm basically outing myself to the Duke Adcomm right now, but I wanted to get feedback from the TLS braintrust on what this would indicate.

I don't think they give them out to anyone who solicits. Would probably mess up their scheduleChris McCandless wrote:I sent Duke an email basically asking for a PT invite (expressing how interested I am in Duke) and they outright rejected it, saying it takes a lot of time to review PTs and they don't send out many invites. It doesn't say anything about the strength of your app, especially since you are above both 75ths. It seems like they are getting kind of behind since they haven't been sending out decisions until after 9 PM on 10th day for PT. It's understandable that they wouldn't want to keep giving them out to everyone.Chris McCandless wrote:I sent Duke an email basically asking for a PT invite (expressing how interested I am in Duke) and they outright rejected it, saying it takes a lot of time to review PTs and they don't send out many invites. I guess I'm just stumped why I wasn't invited since they did send out some after the Sept LSAT score came out.hillz wrote:It doesn't say anything about the strength of your app, especially since you are above both 75ths. Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
I understand. I didn't get some waivers that I assumed I would, too, and other people got them with lower/the same numbers. It's all kinda weird and I don't really understand why some people get them and some people don't. I actually got my PT invite before the Sept LSAT with a much lower LSAT so who knows if I would have received it afterwards. I guess we can't read too much into it all!Chris McCandless wrote:I guess I'm just stumped why I wasn't invited since they did send out some after the Sept LSAT score came out.hillz wrote:It doesn't say anything about the strength of your app, especially since you are above both 75ths. Are you guys hold overs from last cycle? If your CRS was on with an lsat score last year (and transcript), then you will fall victim to a glitch in the system whereby you neither receive fee waivers from the T14 that gave you fee waivers last year or a priority track invite from Duke. There's some variance. I got a duke fee waiver tho my fee waivers for the rest of the t14 were hidden. I did not get a PT invite though despite the fact that my lsat score last year was far lower.

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Correct, I had an Oct 2013 LSAT score that would not put me in PT contention. I did, however, receive a fee waiver from Duke last year and this year.Seoulless wrote:Are you guys hold overs from last cycle? They gave me a PT invite when I solicited, but I'm a badass, so there's that. That said bro, I don't think it says anything about the strength of your application. Just suck it up and apply like I did with Columbia. They have a fast turnaround even without the PT.james.bungles wrote:I don't think they give them out to anyone who solicits. Ok so I have PT for this cycle, but if I decide to apply next cycle instead, will I not be able to successfully solicit for PT?

Did anyone else applying Duke PT track notice a date chance while their file was under review? Does that mean anything?

is it likely the email will come before the end of the day?

anyone who applied RD without priority track?
How long does it take to go 'under review' from 'complete'?
The waiting game is so.... painful.

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
I had PT from last year but applied this year. Emailed them at the start and they said that if I didn't get a PT invite automatically, I could email them and they would take care of it. Ended up getting the PT automatically. (Make sure you change your planned application year in CRS though)GreenTee wrote:Ok so I have PT for this cycle, but if I decide to apply next cycle instead, will I not be able to successfully solicit for PT?
