I would speculate at least the same or a little bit less. Completely just a uess based on rankings, as I am not familiar with the market. But you did say any body :

USC is 150 percent more likely to be successful in the entertainment industry. But thats just speculation.

USC is number one in that field according to a bunch of rankings but no one should make a decision to go to law school based on "entertainment law" only.

Well, no... I realize it's kind of a made-up thing... But it's the area of law in which I'm most interested in practicing. (Yes, I have a back-up plan.) BUT UCLA does offer an Entertainment law symposium?

for what it's worth: a professor of mine who teaches at sc (and is/was an entertainment lawyer) said they carry equal weight as far as jobs go, from his experience, unless you get some psycho USC alum who only hires USC kids. idk why some alums are so rabid.

to me it's all about location. like, I don't want to move to the west side, blech! none of my friends would come visit me there!

that's scary. I'm already working in the music industry buuuuut I want to be a lawyer. let's hope conditions improve in the next 3/4 years before I graduate.

Same here: I want to represent Hollywood. UCLA and USC are pretty equal in that respect. UCLA was #1 in HReporter last year... my plan is NOT to be working as an entertainment lawyer anytime soon after grad..why? B/c you have to establish yourself first, if you can reliably defend people in los angeles, you'll slowly become known.. after a few years of kicking A## you can walk into a ent.based firm, apply confidently and know that you'll be starting in 2 weeks.

The other option which doesn't apply to me but may to others is: family connections. If your dad is in the biz, simply ask him and i'm pretty sure you'll start at the firm but likely have to work your way to the level in which you can represent well known clients in the ent. field.

This. I do plan to actually do a year or two of BL.

But I do know people who work in the executive realm of the production side of both film and television studios. I'm the crazy idiot who's trying to go in-house.

I think ucla is better just proximity wise. When I went to pepperdine I met some pretty high up people like Gloria Allred just living and working around Malibu. But you know what they say it's not who you know it's who you blow.
