No, don't give up hope! Berkeley holds a lot of apps for a faculty review in February(?) so there's definitely no reason to give up hope yet!Pianoolong wrote:UR since early Nov.
Both numbers >75th.
Time to give up hope...?
Though why they're not admitting you now if your numbers are both about the 75th is beyond me. Maybe they're just playing hard to get.

Re: UC Berkeley c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
Berkeley actually admits the 3rd smallest percentage of applicants after Yale and Stanford. It looks like they really do take a holistic view of applicants, and it is difficult to predict decisions from Berkeley more than almost any other school.wowhio wrote:No, don't give up hope! EDIT: I'm not trying to discourage you though. With your strong numbers, if you expressed a genuine interest in Berkeley, I'd think you have a really strong chance of getting in.

Do you think sending in a why Berkeley a while after you have sent in your application is a good or bad idea?

Are you confident in at least wl from your numbers? I would say just send in a letter of continued interest if you get waitlisted...?Pishee77 wrote:Do you think sending in a why Berkeley a while after you have sent in your application is a good or bad idea?

Really? Interesting... I guess their predictor numbers are a big spazzy now that I think about it. Should I consider Berkeley over NYU? Those are the only schools I've been accepted to so farscoobers wrote:no one can be confident in at least a WL from berkeleyresidentemma wrote:Are you confident in at least wl from your numbers? On LSP I'm a strong consider at Berkeley...but as scoobs said numbers dont mean much and Berkeley is known not to waitlist that many people.scoobers wrote:no one can be confident in at least a WL from berkeleyresidentemma wrote:Are you confident in at least wl from your numbers? Same here, except I submitted on Saturday. I got the status checker email at 9 a.m. today and went under review two hours later. I'm hoping that's a good sign (or maybe they just put me on the fast track to rejection, heh).BenjarvusGreenEllis wrote:Submitted 1/10
