So I've dumped on UCH, time to help (a little). I got $10k close to the start of school. I think once they have the class finalized, they redistribute aid from the people they were trying to woo who went to higher ranked schools. I don't know of anyone who got much more than that, but it's something?

Didn't come with mine either. I think they`ll be sending it separately later on this month- but I`m not expecting they`ll be giving out much!

Sorry my Internet isn't cooperating today. My numbers are 160/3.0 with a gpa addendum due to family emergencies.
I'm also Canadian but idk if that matters.

I emailed them a couple weeks ago asking about merit scholarships. They said they wouldn't start handing them out until the end of the month.
Real cute Hastings, real cute. It's not like all the other school's deposits for merit scholars aren't April 1st or anything...

I'm so confused. I was told by Dean Canada, in person, face-to-face, that Hastings doesn't do merit aid, only grant aid. WTF?

Apparently in past years it's been need aid that also takes merit into account, though maybe a current student could verify? When I talked to an admissions rep, he said this year they were pretty much going to solely focus on need though.

Saw Dean Canada at a cocktail-party admit thingy tonight in Palo Alto. The alums were very impressive and super-friendly. Overall, I was very intrigued by Hastings' turnout.

I asked Dean Canada about scholly timing. He said "next few weeks" and said that Hastings' deadline was May 1. But that was not super-helpful as I need to pay CA$H money to other schools in the interim. It's hard to make everyone happy.

I did not ask wrt merit aid vs. need aid. Sorry.

Accepted here last Thursday, and got a phone call today, which was really nice of them. It was a cute personal touch and they even commented on my application. Very nice!

I went complete I think around 2/15. I don't think I'm going to go though, my application was sort of a result of me getting rejected from my dream school (that I really, really thought I would get in to-yep, I was that embarrassing person that had actually looked up apartments near the school and everything, so getting rejected was a weird horrible shock) and then being like "screw it I'll move across the country and start a new life!" but have since calmed down and decided to remain on the east coast, haha.

That said, my father's lawyer graduated from Hastings and has a very successful practice, so looks like it definitely can work out for people!

My application went complete on 2/8 and they are still sitting pretty on it I guess. My numbers are not great, but very good softs, I think, for Hastings. I guess I should find out pretty soon in the next week or so whether I get into Hastings.

I've always recognized Hastings as a top law school and they have some programs that I am actually really interested in, but the constant slide in rankings is a bit too disheartening to me.

No, for me, I only got a phone call (voicemail) and then got an welcome email 2 weeks later.
