I am not roommate friendly so I will need a one bedroom, one bath. I would love to make a list of complexes to look at while I visit. I am really new to this because I spent my UG at home to keep costs down.
(I am going to go through the threads and look at suggestions already given.)

Hey guys, long-time lurker.
So, if I applied back in January and my status still says being reviewed, is it safe to assume I should just give up on UGA?

Thank you so much! I applied as an early decision applicant back in November and was deferred to the regular admissions cycle. So, this has definitely been quite the ride.
Also, I remember seeing that some people had difficulty finding places to stay on April 6's Open House. I am currently an undergrad at UGA and have a comfy pull-out couch for anyone who needs it.

Congrats to all you guys. Best of luck to those still waiting.
In terms of where to live next year - I live here: --LinkRemoved--
I would not call it great. It's close to sketchy areas, but it's about a 3 minute drive to the law school. The walls are kinda thin, but I don't really have noise problems. They have a furnished option, which was super helpful for me (not having to buy a bed/couch/desk was great). And, you live by yourself.
So, put it as an option. I'm fine with it, I'm staying here next year, but it's certainly not amazing.
If y'all have other questions feel free to let me know. Read Getting to Maybe this summer before school.
Best,
me

Waitlisted today via status checker. Does anyone know when offers from the waitlist start being sent out?

Does anyone know if uga places in any markets outside Georgia with any regularity?
I know they are all pretty small, but how about Charleston, Asheville and Nashvillle?

So I have looked into LSN and all that jazz, and I know that I'm well below what they should accept. However, they have kept me under review since January. Should I take this as a "we're looking at your other positive attributes before definitely saying no" or am I just being naive/optimistic?

My experience thus far has been similar. I called the Admissions Office with this question and they told me that, "You're application is in a hold stack because you've got qualities that we like." Basically, there's positive attributes but no room yet.osborned wrote:So I have looked into LSN and all that jazz, and I know that I'm well below what they should accept. I'd check to see if you're waitlisted.

Just tried this to no avail... she just (with no personality, mind you) said that they're still doing reviews, so there's no update for mine. I wish they understood that other schools have deposit deadlines approaching...hammertime10 wrote:My experience thus far has been similar. According to lawschoolnumbers.com, people were being pulled off the waitlist as early as March last year.hammertime10 wrote:Same deal. Anyone got info?bigfootseattle wrote:Waitlisted today via status checker. Does anyone know when offers from the waitlist start being sent out?
I suggest writing the admissions office a letter of continued interest as soon as possible.

I can't stand this waiting... do schools generally extend the dates for the first/second deposit if you ask/plead your case?
Also, first deposit for UGA is due May 1st, 2nd is due June 1st.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
