Thanks! (hopefully the decision is congratulations-worthy) 162 LSAT and sub-3.0 GPA (strong GPA addendum, IMO) & URM. Good luck; hope you hear back soon! I was NDR since 11/27, if I remember correctly.

Hahaha, I know! I felt like I was never gonna get a decision. It's definitely gonna be a tough choice if it is good news. Assuming I don't get any $$ from UF, COA would be the same at WF with the scholly they gave me, so if I want to work in FL, I'd go with UF. I'm going to wait to see if I get the Rose/Hearn scholly from WF before I make a decision.

I've heard rumors that rejections are sent via e-mail. I didn't get an e-mail, so that's encouraging! Didn't have super strong numbers, but I did have strong softs and a solid personal statement. I hope it all works out!

I'm still waiting...Status Date: 11/27/12. Which is making me nervous. What were your numbers if you do not mind sharing?

Seriously? They want me to hunt down court documents for a poss of alcohol by a minor violation from 6 years ago. I already have an offer that I am happy with from another school. I may just reply with don't worry about it, and withdraw. The only school I have had ask for it. wtf.

I would not do this. You will need this document in three years to apply for the bar anyway. It's easier to get a top secret clearance than to pass the background section of the bar lol. They will want EVERYTHING you have ever done, every job you have ever worked, even if for 3 hours, and most definitely the same information. So you may as well get it now and kill two birds with one stone. Ask any 2L or 3L about the bar application, its very comprehensive and no joke.

Yea, perhaps I may have initially overreacted. I understand why they want it and wanting to protect themselves, but out of 18 schools, they have been the only one to ask for it so far. Also, I have deposit deadlines coming up 4/1, so even if I get it to them, I doubt a decision would be made in time anyway. And I would most certainly lose that document in the next 3 years. Frustrated.

If you are not dead set on UF and it would be a huge headache, then do what you feel is best for you. Either way, I would have that document secure and located because you don't want to be going through the process of getting it in the middle of law school semester. Maybe obtain it and put it behind the frame of a picture you know you will have up in your room. Just a suggestion? Good luck to you either way!

Yea, and I understand them wanting to cover their asses and not sink time and resources into someone who cannot pass the bar's C&F, but it seems like one of those things that would be standard, one way or the other. Either everyone needs it or nobody needs it. I suppose I will at least look at the county clerk's website and maybe call them to see how much of a hassle it would be.

Seems like the school is just being thorough. In the long run, as others have said, you will need this document. I definitely understand your frustration that UF is the only school to have asked for it and at a point so late in the game. I personally would acquire it and submit it; you already paid the application fee so you might as well IMO. Regardless, I wish you the best of luck this cycle. Hope it works out for you!

Pretty solid softs (AmeriCorps, Undergrad Thesis, Full-Time Public Interest Law Firm Internship)
Pretty solid admission statement.
