What makes you think you were waitlisted? I thought this deferment meant we were going to be reconsidered among the regular decision applicant pool...
If they're making you wait until April to have your file reviewed again (as it says on their website), it's my understanding that this is essentially a waitlist.
This, that they said my app wouldn't be review again until April.
ETA I guess it's not a true waitlist. They said my app would be reviewed again, but it will be rather late in the cycle, eh?

Yeah, makes it seem like it is even worse than a traditional waitlist, because its almost guaranteed they wont look at your file again for months while its guaranteed that they will continue filling up spaces in their class between now and then...not trying to be a bummer here lol, I believe I am headed for the same fate any day now...

Got a request for my Fall grades today...thank God my senioritis didn't affect me too much! I'm not terribly surprised with my low GPA, but have we determined whether this is a good thing or a bad thing? On one hand, they're still considering accepting me, on the other hand, they're still considering denying me...

Thanks! Should be slightly above a 3.8 LSAC GPA for the semester, which will bring it up a bit, but at least show that I'm still trying in school lol. Part of me was thinking "Screw it all, you're free!" after I submitted all my applications, but now that I got this email I'm glad that I didn't do that

Based on past years' TLS threads, it looks like a fall grade request is usually thought of as a good sign that they want to accept you. Are you an ED applicant?

I think ED decisions are handed out via a pdf attached to e-mail. I was accepted on Dec. 5 and haven't gotten anything via snail mail yet.

It seems like a lot of the ED acceptances are for people with GPAs above their median, but LSATs below it. Hopefully this means they need some high LSATs come RD time

Got my email today.
ED.
First LSAT was 165. Second was 173.
GPA was strange because I was training in Shakespearean theatre for a year, so academically I had a 4.08 but taking into account everything it was closer to a 3.6.
Strong softs. I started an incubator and early stage investment fund for social entrepreneurs and have done some consulting for medium size businesses.
Hope this helps and hope to see you all next year!

Ditto this. In fact, I'm exactly at median for both.. here's to everyone failing their December LSATs. Just kidding good luck everyone. Not really though.

Don't know if I've checked in this thread yet, but I went complete on 11/28.
Judging by the ED admits, how do you all think this cycle will compare to last? I have a 169,171/3.88 and was considering EDing, but decided against it. If I don't get in RD, I sure will regret not submitting ED.
My school does a january term, and I was planning on taking it off. But I did the math and saw I can have a 3.90 afterward, so I'm forgoing the month of TV and beer.... all in hopes for a better shot here.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
