Does anyone know how this status checker works? Does it update everyday at a certain time like Michigan? Or is it random?

Similar to other schools (not Michigan) where it updates as your application advancesLSP12 wrote:Does anyone know how this status checker works? Does it update everyday at a certain time like Michigan? Or is it random?

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
Ty for that, but I actually did the same - requested a waiver, email was forwarded, was granted the waiver. I emailed them just a few minutes after I got my score though, so maybe that was working against me. I'll probably wait until Monday and if I haven't received an invite by then, apply RD.gianna wrote:Jaqen: A friend of mine asked for a merit-based fee waiver, which was forwarded to the person in charge of PT invites and he got one the next day. Not sure if the two are connected, but maybe wait a day or two and try that?

Interesting. Officially checking in, by the way. 3.5/179. Does Duke YP aggressively? Anyway, they are processing my app now.
Edit: Quick Q. Do I need to get the Dean's Letter or do they contact my UG to get it?

You only need to send one if you answered yes to the school related conduct question. If that applies to you, you need to have it sent in.NoodleyOne wrote:Interesting. Officially checking in, by the way. 3.5/179. Does Duke YP aggressively? Anyway, they are processing my app now.

From Duke website:
"Do you require a Dean's Certification form?
If you answer "yes" to the school-related conduct question, you are required to have a dean, registrar, department supervisor, judicial officer, or academic officer with access to official records from your institution submit a letter that provides complete information about the incident. They may write a letter or use an institutional form; Duke does not provide a specific form for this purpose. Other applicants are not required to submit a Dean's Certification. For more information, see Section 9 (Conduct) in the application instructions."

So say you went complete at noon on Nov 1st for example. Would you expect to hear by Nov 10th or 11th for PT?
Another way to put it, is the day you go complete day 1 or day 0?

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
Its not really YP. Duke is just hit or miss with 3.5/high-LSAT splitters and prefers higher GPA's. A WL is likely but some of those guys got pulled off of it last year.NoodleyOne wrote:Yeah, I do then. I'll have to get on that.

What is the significance of the "current status date"?
Does it update each time your app is looked at or something along those lines?

I don't know, but mine is "File under review" and the initial status date was 11/7/12 and status date changed to 11/9/12.

Yeah, I am a little worried to see that. Any indication as to why you think you weren't a straight admit? But don't worry, don't forget you still have great numbers.jym_dawg wrote:Isn't that above both medians?sokomofo wrote:170/3.85
