Absolutely to clarify, Hispanic is a minority, but generally not given the URM boost.

just got an email (at 4am?) saying that my application was held. Definitely better than a rejection! What is the proper procedure for a hold? I live in Texas and would most likely attend if admitted. LOCI? A why essay (I did not submit one)? Campus visit? Or just wait until I get a more concrete wait list? Thanks all and GL

Is it possible to send a "Why Texas" essay after you apply? If so, what is the procedure? I submitted my application recently, and haven't even received the status checker yet so I really want to get it in before they review my application.

Got the hold e-mail at 4 AM as well. Very surprised - I figured my splitter status would mean auto-reject. I actually started crying before I opened the e-mail because I assumed it was the rejection e-mail. What is the proper procedure to send an LOCI? Do I just e-mail the admissions office with it attached? Should I snail mail it in? I am also planning to make a campus visit.

I was held as well, but I'm significantly below the 25% GPA and I'm just below the median LSAT so I was sure I'd be an auto-reject. I'm going to send another LOR and wait it out.

On last years thread several people who were held eventually were accepted

Adding myself to the "hold" group. OOS traditional splitter, above 75th LSAT and below 25th GPA. I'm not terribly surprised or upset by the news but it's making me feel uneasy about my other apps

edit: I sent on the 2nd and receive my status checker on the 12th. I think it was already complete when I first logged in. HTH
