In all honesty I envy people who can regard the city that way. Growing up, it was just that place we went if we were going to the airport or field trip at school. So it kind of feels like home. Which means, it kind of feels like a place I want to escape sometimes even though the majority of my friends from college adore it.

I haven't ventured to the West Coast yet (sadly) but the city that has made me feel closest to that way has been Orlando. Yeah...judging myself right now.

Yeah Orlando is like that for me, kinda meh. Too many tourists, everything is overpriced and watered down. The nightlife is decent and Disney world is cool.

And once you travel/live overseas its really easy to be over NY lol.

+1. Just living near NY for any extended period of time could make someone easily be over NY. And then once you travel overseas or even to other parts of the country, it becomes pretty glaring how basic it really is after awhile. I still appreciate visiting in small doses but I don't think it offers (for me) anything I couldn't get some place else. *kanye shrug*

Speaking of locations-- was anyone else at least a litttlllleeeeeeeee tempted to apply to University of Hawaii @ Manoa?! I was a lot tempted. Holy cow I love it there, the idea of studying a lot but spending my free time surfing Honolulu is just bananas to me. But unfortunately, wifey doesn't want to move 3,000 miles for some reason.

I thought about it when I first got into the law school idea until I read about its job prospects. A better idea seems to be to just go to a good school, make bank, and vacation at Hawaii.

I was in review from 12/15 until 3/2. Just sayin'.

I feel you. That's how I felt about my schools too. They really started rolling in though. I applied to fourteen and am now only waiting on 3. But those three are moving slower than molasses. I'm really not sure what they're doing. For two of them, I should have been an auto-reject, and for the third, I should be an admit. It now looks, however, that I'm headed for a WL there. *sigh*

Ugh. I have been in review at 6 or my 9 schools. Some of them should be automatic rejections, and two should be admit. I'm a splitter for Brooklyn so we will see. If seat deposits are due April 15th, shouldn't they be giving decisions like NOW?!?

I must say, if Orlando is giving you the same warm and fuzzy feeling that people get about NYC, you are doing something wrong ...Orlando is just highways, hotels and disney. The only way that orlando can make you feel like nyc can is if youve only ever been to the airport and time square.

Except I've been just about everywhere in NYC and have lived in different parts of it for a few years, so no, I'm not missing out on anything or doing something wrong. It's just not special to me having been around it all my life.

Just got a huge packet of stuff from Brooklyn. I got my admissions letter about a week ago. There's a ton of stuff on visiting, financial aid, and special programs, but no scholarship info. Also had a nice handwritten note from the Dean.

That was 10 days from application submitted to acceptance! All the other schools I applied to need to take a lesson from BLS.

I'm wondering the same thing because there are a few schools with deposits due April 1st and I want to know Brooklyn's decision before I send in another deposit.

Thanks! I saw that you still have not heard from Fordham. That's probably a good thing, as they pretty much waitlisted me about 5 minutes after looking at my GPA. Any movement on either school yet? Either way, good luck! Maybe I'll see you at Brooklyn in the fall!

167/3.15, so it is likely that my LSAT score at something to do with the quick turn around. I am definitely on the other end of this proposition at WUSTL right now, so it felt good to get some love from Brooklyn.

This all being said, I was pretty surprised when I got that email. I “bombed” my LSAT and my GPA definitely took a fall during my ill-fated love affair with the French departments upper level courses. And I was waitlisted at Cardozo, for petes sake.

Regardless, congrats. That's a huge accomplishment!
