The mailman likely delivered my declination to them this morning.
Got the same $500 bump up today....it would need to be $15,000 to get my attention SCU.
+1
Same here. Also sending in my withdrawal this week. Got more money from a T30. Hope this helps a TLSer.
tried to get an increase in scholarship, was notified today that they have no more funds left but i could submit an appeal if money becomes available later. will withdraw!

I was wondering if anyone who was emailed about being a semi-finalist for the dean's fellowship received any follow up information or the lack of information implies I'm already out of the running

I really want to hear back from SCU. How much longer could we wait?

I have heard from a friend that they send out admits to lower numbers in late March.

Yeah, it would be nice to get in soon. I don't know if I could afford the ridiculous tuition without some scholly package from SCU.

I look at this in two ways. Debt and you can get a job vs debt and cant get a job..

Hopefully SCU is the former.(More so than our other options)

I have decided that if I do not end up top 25% after 1L year, I am just going to drop out and either join the marines or become a fire-fighter. This should hopefully motivate me to destroy 1L year.

I think you should pursue all three options at the same time. 8)

Back in the day being a fire fighter would have been the better option. Retire and make 80k-90k a year. 90% of your salary.

But then came entitlement reform dun dun dun.

yeah, also wish we lived in the days when a law degree (regardless of school) was enough to find gainful employment

If they keep increasing by $500 every week until the fall, then things would get interesting 8)

I got the letter increasing my award by $500, too, but my amount was originally $15,500 and they "increased it by $500 to $15,500."

WTF?

I talked to a SCU representative at the West Coast Consortium on Saturday, she said we'll hear by the end of April.

Nor did I. And my letter said nothing of the increase, as it simply offered another number. $19.5K wasnt enough tho. I sincerely hope they redistribute that money to someone here!

Damn, guess this cycle is never going to end. I might have to ask for some deposit deadline extensions if I don't hear from SCU by 1st week of April. Any of you have an idea as to whether schools let you get an extension for deposit deadlines? How would you go about asking them?

I'm asking for one from Baylor -- they only gave me 10 days! I would just email the dean of admissions, or director of admissions, or whoever signed your acceptance letter, and ask them politely for more time to consider, as this is a major decision for you to make, etc.

Good luck!

Anyone else get a scholarship increase by mail? It didn't go up by much but they gave me an extra $1500 per year.

Edit: I should learn to read.

Just got shot down for more $$. Didn't even get the whole, "you can appeal with this form" runaround.

Sigh.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
