Hello TLSers – this is Ethan Rosenzweig, the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Emory Law. I appreciate your indulging my posts in this discussion thread periodically. With decision season upon us, I wanted to provide you some information on where we are in the process.
Earlier this week, we completed our early decision program for our Woodruff Fellowship applicants. With that process behind us, we are now able to begin mailing admission decision and merit scholarship information for everyone else. I believe that “EmoryRob” has addressed the process of how we are sending out decisions in the “Discuss Your Law School” forum. I encourage you to ask him questions over there. He needs to earn his paycheck.
Thanks for being patient as we release the initial batch of decisions. We are implementing some new processes this year, and one of those includes printing customized admission view books based on your application. So, if your personal statement centered on your love of corporate law and finance, don’t be surprised if your admission book contains a focus on our Center for Transactional Law and Practice. (No, if you wrote about your love for all-u-can eat breakfast buffets, we will not have a special section on food law in your admission book.)
And, I must confess. In theory, I envisioned this printing process to be very straight forward. Unfortunately, during implementation, I am having flashbacks to my dad trying to teach me how to parallel park; he made it sound so easy, but our neighbors didn’t appreciate my running over their shrubs. Anyhow, this is all to say that I appreciate your not attacking the postal worker each day. I promise the decisions are coming.
Finally, I hope that you will come and visit us soon. We have scheduled extra tours in March (

I look forward to meeting many of you in the upcoming weeks. You can always reach us at admission(a)law.emory.edu.
