My LSAT is above and my GPA (Ivy) is just barely below the 75th. I submitted a diversity statement but that's all.dulcatis wrote:Has anyone been admitted with both #s over their 75s? & if so, how many (if any) supplemental essays did you write?

Just a diversity statement.dulcatis wrote:Has anyone been admitted with both #s over their 75s? & if so, how many (if any) supplemental essays did you write?
Mind you, I don't think I'll get an acceptance.

I had GPA median and LSAT over 75, I didn't write any supplemental essays, and was recently accepted.dulcatis wrote:Has anyone been admitted with both #s over their 75s? & if so, how many (if any) supplemental essays did you write?

My numbers were above the 75th, and I wrote a why Mich. Then I submitted an addendum about a week or two later saying that Mich had become my number one choice and that I'd go for sure if accepted (for personal reasons).
But I submitted on 9/29 and others who submitted after that date have already been accepted. Feel waitlist bound.

Because it was personal reasons that emerged after I submitted my application that ultimately made Mich my number 1 choice. Wish I would've ED'd now though.

I wouldn't worry too much. If you look at the Michigan spreadsheet in this threaddooterdude11 wrote:[ArchRoark wrote:Why didn't you ED?dooterdude11 wrote:h. you can see that people who submitted around the same time will hear back throughout November and December. Basically, we shouldn't reaaally be freaking out until late December about not hearing anything back.
Not that that's stopping me or anything...

Nope, I actually had one written and decided against sending in it. I'm quite surprised I got accepted this early to be honest, I was expecting a waitlist later on.CastleRock wrote:You didn't right a why mich? hmm, maybe things arent as grim as I think.artichoke wrote:I had GPA median and LSAT over 75, I didn't write any supplemental essays, and was recently accepted.dulcatis wrote:Has anyone been admitted with both #s over their 75s? & if so, how many (if any) supplemental essays did you write?

I'm with ya on that one. When I sent all my apps in I didn't ED anywhere, and later realized I should have ED'd UMich.dooterdude11 wrote:[ArchRoark wrote:Why didn't you ED?dooterdude11 wrote:h. Also, has anyone who wrote a UMich heard back yet? Maybe they're reading through the files without supplemental essays now?

I feel like it's not likely that they would separate applications that waydulcatis wrote:Also, has anyone who wrote a UMich heard back yet? Maybe they're reading through the files without supplemental essays now?
I think its more like they start reading in accordance with completion date then if you need a second read (other than straight to dean) it takes longer, third read (longer than that), waiting on another LSAT score then another read or two longer than that...

I sent in a Why Michigan as well as another supplemental and was accepted with the last wave. I submitted fairly early though (late Sept), so I don't think there is too much of a need to start worrying yet.dulcatis wrote:Also, has anyone who wrote a UMich heard back yet? Sort of, I thought it was a bit risky in terms of content, so I just decided it against it altogether at the last minute.dulcatis wrote:

I was hoping you were just a special snowflake! s0ph1e2007's explanation makes a lot of sense I think. I know we shouldn't worry yet, it's just stressful! I want to be in at one of my top schools so I can breathe a bit.The Stig wrote:dulcatis wrote:Also, has anyone who wrote a UMich heard back yet? dulc, when did you submit? Do you think the fact that I applied 9/29 is cause for concern?dulcatis wrote:I was hoping you were just a special snowflake! s0ph1e2007's explanation makes a lot of sense I think. I submitted 10/10. I wouldn't freak out yet. Here's a spreadsheet from last year's applicants in terms of when they applied/heard back:dooterdude11 wrote:dulc, when did you submit? You can see that there's still a lot of variation in terms of when people who applied at the same time heard back, and when I was putting it together it wasn't clearly because of #s or anything. This obviously doesn't have September information, but don't actually WORRY until late December. Though feel free to be neurotic, because that's what I'm doing! Woo!
