Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I'm not really stressed about NYU since there is almost 0 shot of being accepted this late and a less than 0 percent chance of getting enough money to make it cheaper than my other options, but I really don't understand what the hell NYU is doing with the WLs. It's almost may and you are just sending WLs out NOW? It makes no sense

Does the status check ever change from DLS?

I went DLS just now! I'm honestly so relieved to see some change. I'm like, excited to get waitlisted right now because it'll finally end my cycle haha

Somebody reported earlier today that their status checker indicated a waitlist offer sent today (this was a DLS 4/24 person)haley12 wrote:Does the status check ever change from DLS?

Just went DLS with today's date. I'd prefer a ding over a WL at this point to avoid prolonging this nightmare

DLS yesterday, waitlisted today...pretty pleased with this. Already in at other T13s but feels good, really like NYU.

Ugh, does this mean I'm going to have to refresh my tracker still? All because NYU is taking their sweet time deciding when they want to tell us if its a WL or ding even after DLS.

I see the best in people to a fault, but I'm thinking maybe they are understaffed/had an unexpected number of apps and are just overloaded. I can't imagine they would do this on purpose. It would be nice if they would release a statement saying something to that effect.patttt wrote:Is it just me, or is the game that NYU is playing with all of us extremely unprofessional and perhaps even unethical? I agree. Granted, I haven't been subject to this torture, so it's easy for me to remain positive.haley12 wrote:I see the best in people to a fault, but I'm thinking maybe they are understaffed/had an unexpected number of apps and are just overloaded. I do know that at least one person on the admissions staff is brand new (as in started in the department in January), so maybe there were a bunch of staffing changes that messed things up? Who knows.

TBH, everything I have heard about NYU on this forum and elsewhere seems to indicate that the administrative staff at the university isn't necessarily the most efficiently organized.haley12 wrote:I see the best in people to a fault, but I'm thinking maybe they are understaffed/had an unexpected number of apps and are just overloaded. Hale, I'ma let you finish but NYU had the most unprofessional and unethical admissions practice of all time in the year of our lord 2017.haley12 wrote:I see the best in people to a fault, but I'm thinking maybe they are understaffed/had an unexpected number of apps and are just overloaded.
