Completely separate (by a few months even) for me. Not sure if they'll be sending more or re-assigning declined offers or what though. Hang in there!theycallmefoes wrote:For those of you who were offered the Dean's Fellowship, was this your initial scholarship offer, or was the invitation sent at a later time? Rather, is there still hope for me (due to people declining the offer) if I haven't heard anything yet?

I am withdrawing now. As I got a full ride, this will throw some money back into the pot for you all. What is the protocol? Contacting admissions via their regular e-mail?

I believe I saw the option to withdraw in the same place where you go to pay your deposit online.Seoulless wrote:I am withdrawing now. As I got a full ride, this will throw some money back into the pot for you all. What is the protocol? Contacting admissions via their regular e-mail?

So the Dean's Fellowship is full tuition that adjusts based on the tuition amount of each year, not just a three-year scholarship in the amount of whatever tuition is for your 1L year? That piece alone is solid.

I hope I get more money soon so I can figure out how much rent I can afford without taking out too much in loans. On a side note, I'm going to really miss my dog when I move. She's got a good home lined up with people she knows, but still...

My dog is a 70 pound lab/pitbull mix tho and would wreck the place. She needs a big yard like she has now.

For those of you who did not deposit, did you receive any communications Re scholarships or anything else?

For those of you who have negotiated for scholarships, did you wait until you heard from all schools or did you get started with what you had? In a weird situation where I am still waiting to hear back from many schools, waitlisted at others, and haven't heard back re: scholarships from some of the ones I got accepted to. So the only two significant money offers I've gotten are from schools I'm not sure WUSTL would consider its peer. Worth approaching them with it? Or should I wait for other offers? I feel like the longer I wait the less $ there will be to go around.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
My advice: why not do both? By that I mean you could send your current offers and pending apps in a concise email (talk about your desire to attend, but cost concerns are holding you back, etc).ojala wrote:For those of you who have negotiated for scholarships, did you wait until you heard from all schools or did you get started with what you had? ...See what happens....
And if you're not successful send them another email when you have a few more peer offers together. The admissions office is super chill and won't mind updates. Keep going until you succeed or get an explicit "no money for you" type message.
Don't freak out about money being all gone, that's not exactly how it works. They still give out scholarships to later applicants and waistlist-ers all the way thru the summer.
Good luck!
