I got a "not for tourists" guide to NYC from Columbia yesterday. kind of cute! (especially since I'll be going out to visit in a month, so I could actually use it!

The USC shirt is nice. Also enjoy the utility of the IU phone charger. And Duke gave me.... a pen

School COL is the basis for private loans. Schools up it so that you can take more out if something happens that you need. While self control may say otherwise, it's better to have the cap space and not use it than it is to provide an accurate average that may make funding school or some other emergency impossible for some studentsThomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:I'm still not entirely sure how schools are calculating COL...for instance Vandy's COL per year is like $25k....I live in Manhattan NY right now and I barely spend $1800/month on food + living expenses (i live with a roommate) and I live/eat/drink like a king.....

In all honesty I hope the best freebie I get is from a school I don't attend. I don't want to think my tuition next year is going to crazy give aways to prospective students

I live in Manhattan too. And have two roommates. And spend $1,800 on rent and utilities alone.

LOLOL King of Bhutan. Dead.
I live with a roommate in UES (not the good part, closer to 1st Ave).
Rent: $1150 + utilites ($50ish)
Travel: Monthly metrocard supplied by work. I live right next to the new Q line that opened up so I literally never have to pay for cabs anymore.
Food: $60/week on groceries. I hardly ever eat out or go out on Weekdays.
That leaves almost $350-$400 per month on going out on weekends and I usually stick to Lower East Side/Alphabet City so that extra $400 lets me live extremely comfortably haha

173/170/172.... 3.6 .. in at CLS with no aid. Havent heard elsewhere (YHCCNB)
Really gutted by my 172 . 170 was a 173/174 with a one LG transposed bubbling error. Walking out of feb i felt like i had solidly performed , maybe 175+
Since ive seen pt's 70-80s alot , i pretty much get 175+ on each
Leaning towards PI, or private PI firm. Interested in a dual degree (ma econ)
What should i do? Hope for H? Retake June if on waitlist?

You live with a roommate in a one bedroom? Walk up? No doorman?Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:MrJD2020 wrote:Like the king of Bhutan, maybe.Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:I'm still not entirely sure how schools are calculating COL...for instance Vandy's COL per year is like $25k....I live in Manhattan NY right now and I barely spend $1800/month on food + living expenses (i live with a roommate) and I live/eat/drink like a king.....

Just FYI the metrocard is worth $116.50 a month. I posted it in a different thread today.

Yup! Sweet deal because the living room is massive, so we walled off half of it to make a second roomNpret wrote:You live with a roommate in a one bedroom? Walk up?
