Just got into the Admitted Students Site! My first law school acceptance!

Necessary info: 171/3.75, Complete 12/16, UR 1/7->1/28, DR 2/1

Just got my acceptance!! I went complete in mid-December, and my letter is dated February 1st.

Congratulations! My status checker says DR 2/1 so hopefully that means good news for me too.

Current Status Date: 2/4/2010

(from UR 1/11/10)

They seem to have post dated my review... I suppose that means I won't be getting a decision tomorrow.

Good luck! I hadn't really been checking my status checker (I know, BLASPHEMY!) so I'm not sure when mine changed. When I saw the envelope, I was like, have I been rejected?! I'm sure your's is coming soon, because my letter is dated and postmarked 2/1. I'm in New York so it's a short trip from DC.

Plus, there was a nice handwritten note from Dean Cornblatt on mine that specifically cites something from my personal statement. Do they always do that? That's a nice touch, Georgetown. <3

EDIT: Sorry, for anyone wondering I'm 171/3.7 and non-URM.

Hey thanks. I figure I need to be pretty ballsy to get through this cycle. There's actually a pretty good deli in Tysons Corner (site of very large DC-area shopping mall) called Chutzpah, but I've never been. Big difference between NY and DC = lack of good deli/pizza/bagels but I guess that would be a discussion for another place.

Application under review 2/3. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to go from "Under Review" to "Decision"? Are acceptances released via mail or email?

Also, what is Georgetown's policy towards waitlisted students? Do they ever take students off the waitlist or is it a "soft rejection" like other schools? LOCIs help?

mine was under review for about 3 months (i had an interview during this process). I think it depends on the strength of your application.

167 / 3.91, strong softs, letter of rec from a gtown alum who knows me well and had an interview about a week ago :-/ who knows, this process is so arbitrary!

I can't decide whether the 2/3 batch is an acceptance batch or a priority waitlist batch. Hoping for acceptance.
