Re: NYU 2011
"Congratulations! I am delighted to contact you with good news. Because of your outstanding academic achievements in combination with your financial need, you have been selected from the entering class of 2011 to receive a Law Center Scholarship award. This scholarship is in combination with any need-based grants you may receive or have received from Georgetown, and is for $45000.00 total for each of three years of study here at the Law Center. "
DID I READ THIS RIGHT? THIS SAYS $45,000 EACH YEAR (TOTAL OF $135,000)... RIGHT?

Re: NYU 2011
Since NYU is a major financial contributor to SEO (a program providing numerous paid corporate law internships for the summer), I wanted to ask if anyone here completed his or her in-person SEO interview? If so, have you heard back?
There is an SEO thread but the feedback is limited and often ambiguous. What I mainly derived from the SEO thread is that SEO targets T-6 (especially NYU) and Ivy L1s. Your feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Forgive me, but I'm new to this thread. If I'm still under review from January, and haven't heard anything, that's probably a bad sign, right?

Obviously no one knows anything for sure but the general consensus seems to be that those of us who have been under review for so many months now (11/10 UR date here) are destined for a WL or rejection...Vuvuzela!!! wrote:Forgive me, but I'm new to this thread. Yes, maybe those who are more adept at copying LSN info into excel can make it more clear. I just did the eyeball analysis on the first 150 or so acceptances last year, and there were two or three exceptions who were admitted after more than five weeks. Most admits seemed to have been 1-3 weeks after going complete.valengina wrote:Obviously no one knows anything for sure but the general consensus seems to be that those of us who have been under review for so many months now (11/10 UR date here) are destined for a WL or rejection...Vuvuzela!!! wrote:Forgive me, but I'm new to this thread. Yeahhhh I've been under review since 10/20. It's hard to remember they haven't rejected me yet.valengina wrote:Obviously no one knows anything for sure but the general consensus seems to be that those of us who have been under review for so many months now (11/10 UR date here) are destined for a WL or rejection...Vuvuzela!!! wrote:Forgive me, but I'm new to this thread. Re: NYU 2011
They sent me an email about accessing the status checker, but regardless, you should be able to find it on their admissions webpage. You should check it out asap to make sure your app is complete.robotclubmember wrote:may be dumb question, i dunno. i haven't been following this thread since i'm not really expecting to get in, but how does nyu keep in touch with its applicants? i submitted my materials on 1/24 and thus far, have got nothing. zero e-mails, zero mail, no status checker, nothing. am i missing something?
In general, "no news is good news" from NYU... rejections have been arriving via email. So far, the "decision letter sent" notifications on status check have all been acceptances, I believe. The WLs don't go out until April. In other words, if you haven't heard from them at this point with a DLS or a rejection, you are likely to be WL-bound next month.
A few people are getting accepted recently, including fall completes... so there still is hope... just slim.

Re: NYU 2011
There is a status checker. I think it's in an email they sound you? Idk how else you would be notified of it. Also, your tax focus should give you a chance at NYU, even if your numbers are a little low. Good luck!robotclubmember wrote:may be dumb question, i dunno. i haven't been following this thread since i'm not really expecting to get in, but how does nyu keep in touch with its applicants? i submitted my materials on 1/24 and thus far, have got nothing. zero e-mails, zero mail, no status checker, nothing. am i missing something?
Fwiw, I'm not sure about the no news is good news thing. Many acceptances happen very quick, but there have been a handful who waited around for a long time. Since you applied in January it's anyone's guess.

Re: NYU 2011
Not even an application complete email? That may be a bad sign - that they haven't gotten it? The status check is on their jd admissions website, and you use the same user name as with all LSAC status checkers (first letter of first name, first 4 of last name, and last 4 digits of your LSAC#, I believe, unless they do it differently for each person). There is a "forgot password?" option, but this may only be usable by those who have logged in first then changed their password/set security questions. If you're sure you don't have the email, you may want to call or email...robotclubmember wrote:may be dumb question, i dunno. i haven't been following this thread since i'm not really expecting to get in, but how does nyu keep in touch with its applicants? i submitted my materials on 1/24 and thus far, have got nothing. zero e-mails, zero mail, no status checker, nothing. am i missing something?

Re: NYU 2011
Thanks, I've lived in the city before, so I would be excited to come back. Love the Village, but unfortunately having pets means I won't be living there. Still waiting to hear from a few schools, but I will probably end up at Brooklyn if I turn out to be the first DLS rejection of the cycle. So either way I'll be back in the city.birdlaw117 wrote:Good luck! Hope you like the school/The Village!jplwine wrote:I hope this is still true. I went dls on 3/18. Can't access asw and no mail yet. Does the admissions office prefer to receive LOCI and other supplemental materials by email or snail mail?
