Pretty much.chargers21 wrote:classical liberal means small "l" libertarian, right (that's what I call myself)? I also generally distrust the financial figures the law schools give for CoL. And I think they always give really liberal figures for those kinds of things. If I understand correctly, though, that's to our benefit for loans, as the cap is based on those estimates? Gives people some wiggle room.

Suffolk just sent me a fee waiver.
I really don't understand. If I haven't applied by March 1st...it wasn't the application fee standing in my way.

For those of you talking about food costs, don't forget that most law schools feed students at events lol

My mom (an attorney) insisted I watch The Paper Chase to get a good understanding of the craziness of 1L. Anyone else seen it?

The movie? Yeah. Not the tv show. It was intense but *shrug* that which doesn't kill you, etc. etc.Instrumental wrote:My mom (an attorney) insisted I watch The Paper Chase to get a good understanding of the craziness of 1L. Anyone else seen it?

Robot Pimp is going to be my nickname in law school. Robot because I'm cold, calculated, and objective, and pimp, because well, I don't have to explain.Instrumental wrote:My mom (an attorney) insisted I watch The Paper Chase to get a good understanding of the craziness of 1L. Anyone else seen it?

In terms of a movie I remember it being pretty good. That more than anything made me want to be a Harvard man... in the 70s hahaInstrumental wrote:My mom (an attorney) insisted I watch The Paper Chase to get a good understanding of the craziness of 1L. Anyone else seen it?

I thought I remember a bunch of Tutterow's classmates saying that his story is a ridiculous exaggeration of even what 1L was like back then. Not sure who to believe but I take both this film and his book with hefty doses of saltInstrumental wrote:My mom (an attorney) insisted I watch The Paper Chase to get a good understanding of the craziness of 1L. I thought the waiting game was the worst part, turns out the "how the hell am I going to pay for this and still be able to survive" game is far more stressful.

The worst part is having parents worry. I hate them feeling like they aren't able to provide me with enough when they've already given me everything.jstans wrote:I thought the waiting game was the worst part, turns out the "how the hell am I going to pay for this and still be able to survive" game is far more stressful.
