New plan. I will park my car in your garage and pay you monthly so I can pay less. Kthanksscottidsntknow wrote:My place in CWE charges $50/month for garage parking.

This is a dirty lie, and you're a bad person for it.ZGr88n wrote: I just can't decide whether or not I need to keep my motorcycle (I doubt riding in STL is that pleasurable).
Well, maybe not, but we do have some good riding around here. The River Road on the IL side is pretty amazing to ride up during Spring/Summer. Plus, you can see eagles 'n shit.
ETA: We don't have a helmet law in IL, either. The one thing we care about liberty for is head injuries.

Yeah, I was thinking about bringing mine down as well, just not sure if it's worth the trip if the weather is going to turn a month after I get down, how long into the fall does it usually stay warm in STL?Ricky-Bobby wrote:This is a dirty lie, and you're a bad person for it.ZGr88n wrote: I just can't decide whether or not I need to keep my motorcycle (I doubt riding in STL is that pleasurable).

I meant riding in the city with traffic and what not. For instance, how would riding to and from school be? I can only speculate, as I've never lived in St. Louis. You also have to look at what I'm used to and where I'm coming from (much different than Stl).Ricky-Bobby wrote:This is a dirty lie, and you're a bad person for it.ZGr88n wrote: I just can't decide whether or not I need to keep my motorcycle (I doubt riding in STL is that pleasurable).

I live a little under two hours east of Stl, and my bike is only in storage from November-early March (there are a few nice days in there that I break it out).John Everyman wrote:Yeah, I was thinking about bringing mine down as well, just not sure if it's worth the trip if the weather is going to turn a month after I get down, how long into the fall does it usually stay warm in STL?Ricky-Bobby wrote:This is a dirty lie, and you're a bad person for it.ZGr88n wrote: I just can't decide whether or not I need to keep my motorcycle (I doubt riding in STL is that pleasurable).

Good to know, doesn't sound too bad. I used to live near the bluffs in the northern Mississippi and riding around there was amazing. Don't know what the southern (middle?) Mississippi is like but if it's anything comparable it'd be worth it.ZGr88n wrote:I live a little under two hours east of Stl, and my bike is only in storage from November-early March (there are a few nice days in there that I break it out).John Everyman wrote:Yeah, I was thinking about bringing mine down as well, just not sure if it's worth the trip if the weather is going to turn a month after I get down, how long into the fall does it usually stay warm in STL?Ricky-Bobby wrote:This is a dirty lie, and you're a bad person for it.ZGr88n wrote: I just can't decide whether or not I need to keep my motorcycle (I doubt riding in STL is that pleasurable).

It's nice to know there are other students at WUSTL that like to ride. At Michigan's ASW, a group of admits I spoke with acted as though they didn't even realize motorcycles were real things.John Everyman wrote: Good to know, doesn't sound too bad. Traffic is surprisingly minimal in the city. You'll sit occasionally, but it's nothing compared to driving in a real city.
I would be wary of Missouri drivers, though. They're awful and will probably murder you with their cars.

Awesome, this makes me a little more optimistic. Whenever I was in for asw, it seemed doable, but I wasn't sure.Ricky-Bobby wrote: Oh. Pardon my rash outburst.

Wait - maybe I'm not sure what you mean by near the law school parking.

I personally love tornadoes, always warm weather, really cool cloud formations, and great storms.JustHawkin wrote:didn't know what those sirens were for at first. Now I know.sublime wrote:Followed by tornados.

The first time I heard them (back in undergrad), I had no idea what they were and proceeded to walk out onto my 13th floor balcony to try to figure out what was going on. Turns out that isn't what you do when they go off.JustHawkin wrote:didn't know what those sirens were for at first. Now I know.

In all seriousness though, this year was probably the worst winter I've ever experienced in this area.sublime wrote:Yea me neither. And obviously I was exaggerating, but not by as much as I wish I was.bound wrote:sublime wrote:Winter was approx. 11 months long this year. Followed by tornados.

I sent in a scholarship increase request in April of 2012. I'm currently a 2L and am still waiting to hear back.theycallmefoes wrote:Still wondering about this.theycallmefoes wrote:For those of you who solicited scholarship increases and have already heard back, how long was it before you received a response?

Is the Quadrangle housing pricing a good representation of rent near campus? Or are there decent apartments that are cheaper? Also, when are people starting apartment hunting? I have no clue when is too early/too late.
