I can't imagine they'd outright ding any more helds from back in January. Harvard keeps an enormous waitlist right? I'm guessing they'll either KB1 or waitlist us.Doorkeeper wrote:I'm in the same position and I'm panicking just a bit.WhiteGuy5 wrote:So what does Held ---> Radio silence mean so far?
Hoping this means they're deciding who gets their final KB1s, and not who gets their final WLs...

Any JS1's from Feb get a response?

Yeah I've been on Hold since January. If anyone deserved a decision today it was the January Holds--they've had our applications longer. If they have decided to reject the lot of us, we would've heard today (what's the point of holding on to applicants you plan on rejecting, right?). I also may not have gotten a decision today because I sent in a LOCI recently, so it pushed my application further down the decision pile, but I'm going to assume the best is ahead of uschucklesmcgee wrote:I can't imagine they'd outright ding any more helds from back in January. (And by best I mean WL).

Is there any consensus on what chances are like coming in off the waitlist?
If you've already interviewed, do you have to again?yepyepyep wrote:
Yeah, I think everyone that gets accepted gets interviewed before accepted (that I saw anyway). I was just hypothesizing that the rest of the interviews/acceptances would come from the waitlist pile instead of the hold-nothing pile.

From last year's waitlist forum, which I've read way too many times, it looks like you have to interview again. But the interviews for previous KB1's are just, "are you still considering us?" kind of questions.Elliott_Smith wrote:Is there any consensus on what chances are like coming in off the waitlist?

Does anyone get waitlisted without a interview? I was held in January and I have to assume that if they weren't ever interested enough to interview me, I have to be headed for a long overdue rejection, right?

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
I think plenty of people make it to the WL without a KB1. The interview is something close to a formality in the sense that ~80% are offered admission, so if they interviewed everyone who will be put on their (supposedly large) waitlist, the percentage of those going KB1->KB2 would be much lower.larsoner wrote:Does anyone get waitlisted without a interview? According to LSN for 09-10, there was a wave of rejections, then the waitlists, and then... another wave of rejections at the very end of April/early May.

I wish the admissions blogs just had information on how the process is going, and not entries designed to make me want to attend - that's just cruel if I don't actually get the option.

Yeah but there were also significantly more waitlists than we have so far seen this year.yepyepyep wrote:Yep, that sounds about righthypothalamus wrote:According to LSN for 09-10, there was a wave of rejections, then the waitlists, and then... another wave of rejections at the very end of April/early May.

Also, I'm noticing on LSN that many of the waitlists have LSAT/GPA combos lower than people who are waiting to hear. I'm seeing 173/3.6 and 172/3.75 non-URMs getting waitlists.
This is giving me some hope.

Keep the faith. Everything has been late this year, so there might be another round of KB/JS1s before May.Doorkeeper wrote: Also, I'm noticing on LSN that many of the waitlists have LSAT/GPA combos lower than people who are waiting to hear. And almost six months after applying, I was just dinged.
Non-URM below both 25ths, so it was expected and deserved. Good luck to those still waiting!
