I don't think any school actually holds you to the requirement to withdraw all of your other apps (unless it was binding ED). I think you are entitled to ride out waitlists if you so choose.

Who has a 4/1 deposit date? Call NYU and tell them.

Duke. I called...and the lady on the phone said they can't do anything about it.

Depends on the school and if scholarship is involved. If you get a match from Berkeley and accepts it you have to withdraw from WLs.

Really? I didn't even notice that about Duke, I need to go check.

But I guess you will have to deposit at Duke (if that's your first choice without NYU), and ride it out. I would also probably send an update telling them you deposited at Duke but would go to NYU if admitted. That way if you are not heading for an acceptance, they may give you a WL. (Just how I would play it, not saying it's even a good way to do it).

I know you can ride waitlists and given the way this has gone thats where I am headed anyways, just give the damn decision already. Just reread the exact wording from Duke and it says I have to withdraw from all other schools I have been admitted to. So I guess I don't have to withdraw from NYU given they havn't actually admitted me?

Yup, that's how I read it. You have to withdraw from acceptances only.

Yup, that's how I read it. You have to withdraw from acceptances only.

Cool. Thanks. Now if NU would just give me a scholarship decision...

I just got an e-mail from NYU regarding not being selected for a named scholarship.

Does that mean I am in?

Fair enough. Guess I should assume that I am in.

I just remember some rumor that floated around here about ASW access and someone gaining access without having been admitted. Has me a little spooked.

This happened to University of Delaware undergrad admissions. This year. Most of them were WL or dinged afterwards.

Yeah, that would suck. I think the rumor was specifically with regards to NYU law ASW and it was a few years ago (1-2 cycles back).

That is odd. ~~I haven't seen anyone in the admitted threads mentioning that email. It could be just that they haven't reported it~~ because I'm bad at reading... I still think you guys are in (I really hope you are). ~~You could always just email them and ask, although that could be kind of weird...~~
