Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I didn't say KB's name either. Given the brevity and structure of the interview, I doubt you would have to say her name unless you did so intentionally which I would probably avoid doing in order to avoid any unnecessary social trespass.
ETA: For the record, you can absolutely address an assistant dean by "Dean X." It's like calling an associate professor, "Professor X." ...I must say though, I would most certainly not call a grad student instructor "Dr.," as they are not in fact a doctor.

Haha. Ok fair enough. I was thinking in the Charm-School-101 everyone-loves-hearing-their-own-name vein, but I guess avoiding it is the safest route.

My official advice is to begin EVERY answer with, "well, you know Jessica..." or "fantastic question Jessica..." and then let us know how quickly you get dinged. It'll totally be worth the laugh!!!

Honest question, how do you pronounce "Soban?" Is it "So-bahn" or "So-ban" or "So-ben?"

Am I the only one that called her JS? And referred to the interview as JS1, for example at the end I told her "thank you for allowing me to JS1 with you, when should I expect my JS2?"

Had my JS1 2/26. Didn't expect to hear back yet and haven't.
Reading TLS pre/post LSAT gave me mad anxiety but this Harvard thread is really calming my nerves. Thanks guys.

That's a relief; I definitely addressed her as Jessica and she didn't seem bothered by it.masked kavana wrote:She said on the blog that calling her Jessica was ok

Has my JS1 on 2/20 and haven't heard anything yet.
Does anyone know when the last round of JS1 interviews are?

I had my KB on 2/27. She asked all of the expected questions, although she did ask me "If I could go back and change one thing in my academic career, what would I change?" I took that as her asking for the weakness in my application.wert3813 wrote:Who JS/KBed this week? Complete 1/17, haven't heard a thing since, not even a hold. Anticipating a ding but this drawn-out process feels very odd.
Then again it's not nearly as weird as going complete at Chicago two weeks before that and not hearing anything from them either.
I submitted to Columbia on the same day and got accepted before January ended, too! Law school admissions are strange.

Well no KB1s are gonna happen, but JS seems fond of weekly roll outs. I think she'll be fine doing JS2s on Thursday cuz very, very few of those people will even consider going to march's asw
And Columbia has been totally ignoring me... :'(nefftron wrote:Complete 1/17, haven't heard a thing since, not even a hold. Anticipating a ding but this drawn-out process feels very odd.

Would you rather go to Columbia than the schools you've been accepted to?ManOfTheMinute wrote:Well no KB1s are gonna happen, but JS seems fond of weekly roll outs. I think she'll be fine doing JS2s on Thursday cuz very, very few of those people will even consider going to march's asw
