my file went complete and i got my status checker yesterday. my status has just been updated to "complete 2/16"
hopefully this will mean good news...i could really use some good news right about now!

No I don't mean luxury loosely. Zaragon West is being built as we speak, as is landmark.The original Zaragon was built 2 years ago. If you don't mind walking a bit I am sure you can find affordable housing still. In fact what sells the fastest are houses. If you want to live in the crappiest apartment building you can live in U towers which usually is desperate for people and in a decent location.

Dude, I don't know where you get your info. U Towers has been booked solid the last two years. A few summer starters squeaked in but no one else I know of. Also, the condos are all individually owned so quality varies greatly from one to another. Also, you're paying $1,025 PER BED at Zaragon. They match you with a roommate...with no preference for grad/undergrad. I think I'll stick with being able to ensure I don't live with an undergrad who parties all the time. "Loft living" is fine for undergrad but not for Law School where our schedule doesn't line up with the University's and your sleep/studying matters.

I know that every single person who is not already admitted is also obsessively checking the status checker, which apparently is updated EVERY DAY (!!), but has anyone else been waiting over FOUR MONTHS at this point for a decision?

going into this cycle, Michigan was my top choice and I thought it was a reach, but now that I've been admitted to several other schools that are on a similar level (so there's some context for this post), I kind of just don't understand what they are so torn about four months down the road. Especially since I am in state and clearly indicated on my application they were my #1, and even had LOR from law school almuni. Someone just give me some peace of mind- wtf is going on?!

Honestly, I wouldn't even be too hurt if they just WL or denied me at this point- I just want to know!

Not to mention these schools flood your inbox with all their literature and promotion and it's just interesting how the timing in the cycle can really matter.

Now, let me be clear, I'm not complaining about Michigan whatsoever. Dean Z and her staff are great and I'd still love to go there. Just interesting how timing throughout the admissions cycle can effect how you feel about schools and factor into decisions.

For sure,I'm with you there. some of the schools that were at the top of my list earlier on are slipping further and further down simply because of how long they've been holding on to my app. Vandy looks better and better every day simply because they were kind enough to admit me in November. Now I'm making plans for ASW's and such, and I cant do that with the schools that are just sitting on my app for what is going to be month five.

Duke wasn't even on my radar before the cycle. And I was convinced that Michigan or Cornell were my dream schools. Now, Duke is in my top 3 and I've pretty much dismissed Cornell as my application sits in limbo.

But Michigan...you're breaking my heart ever so slowly. I'm not giving up yet. "I Will Always Love You."

I feel like it has something to do with the fact that it seems like the schools that accepted you quickest are the ones that want you the most. They had no reservations or whatever about me, and that's a nice feeling, I guess. And then, with these schools that are, for some reason, holding on to my application and not moving forward with it either way, I see my complete date passed up by people who are being accepted, wait listed, and rejected. So, while I'm glad I'm not an autoreject, I'm also just confused about why they seem so much more certain about candidates with similar numbers and similar complete dates. Why am I so confusing to them? I mean, my numbers aren't great for Michigan, so I really am happy (and sort of surprised) that I haven't been rejected yet, but... I guess basically I'm not sure how to feel.

That being said, I still love Michigan even though apparently they're not sure how they feel about me.

Seems to be a common theme on this thread today. Also, looking at my numbers, my complete date and the graph on LSN, I feel pretty confident that I'm headed for the wait list. There are worse things, I suppose.

I mean, I think it depends on what your reasons are, but I'm going on 3 months and I don't feel ready to submit one yet so...

I read an interview with Dean Tom from Berkeley where he writes that approximately 25% of their spots remain by the time the application deadline rolls around. I'm going to apply some wishful thinking and say this is the exact same for Michigan. And we're all going to get accepted. And I'm going to win the lottery.

i don't think that it is a stretch to say that this is an "unusual" cycle. because apps are down, they are waiting until the end to make more decisions.
