My boss just asked if I was OK...

I genuinely feel really sick now. At the outset of the cycle I was super confident, but now I'm not at all.

It's a coping mechanism and has nothing to do with objective reality. Once I learned there was a JS2 wave my mind flooded with negative thoughts because I was afraid to be let down. Gotta power through it!! The day is barely halfway over

Yeah, but it's been about three hours since the wave started. I don't know how long of a wave we should expect.

If this is the last wave it'll be pretty long. If it's not the last wave, you live to die another day. How does that sound buddy?

Which stage of the grieving process is bargaining?

I'm still in denial

The cycle is not over until you reach the acceptance stage (pun intended)
