Yeah. I never heard it said around UMich. We do call ourselves the Harvard of west (which whatever - I never bought one of those shirts) but never public ivy. Also, likely more of my first gen showing, but when I looked at the list of which schools were public ivies, I was pretty surprised. I didn't know that any of the schools other than UC schools had such academic prestige nationally.

Semi-similar stats but I have median LSAT and GPA not crazy below 25th. And yeah I'm a URM...no date change...wildquest8200 wrote:i wonder how many people who haven't had any change and have similar stats are URMs...jessmeesh wrote:Same stat range. I'm mixed. I have white and mexican checked - but I primarily identify as white and indicated such. Pretty sure I'm not getting any URM bump. But maybe it's why I haven't been dinged yet?

I just really, really need for them to waitlist me, because it'll take far longer to come to terms with a rejection.
I refuse to believe it takes any admissions committee six full months, replete with indications of continued interest and updates from a candidate, to realize that said candidate is not a good fit. period.

URM as well. LSN had me at a 95 percent acceptance. LSAT a few points below median, GPA > 75th... Also even 1/4 URM counts. if you check it, it matters (from what I've gathered from LSAC forums geared towards diversity, admissions officers, etc.)jessmeesh wrote:wildquest8200 wrote:i wonder how many people who haven't had any change and have similar stats are URMs...jessmeesh wrote:Same stat range. I'm 1/4t - my father's family is from mexico, but I was raised by my mother, so it's never main identity for me. Just a fact I'm aware of.
Also I realized my above comment was poorly worded. What I meant was, I don't think I'm getting a bump, but I haven't been dinged yet (and my stats deserve a ding) so maybe I am.
