Thanks so much for doing this! Can you guys include when you submitted/went complete? Might help for others trying to gauge where they stand.

"We wish to inform you that... your application has been placed in our "Hold" category, which means that your application is still under active consideration by the Admissions Committee."

I'm guessing it just means I'm on a second priority list for held applicants?

Dear Mr. TheLastStraw05,

We wish to inform you that, after careful consideration, your application has been placed in our "Hold" category, which means that your application is still under active consideration by the Admissions Committee.

To provide a context for your present status, we expect over 8,000 candidates will seek admission to our entering class, numbering approximately 380 students, during this admissions season. This year's applicant pool, in keeping with recent years, promises to be among the largest and most highly qualified in our history. Therefore, your current standing represents a testament to your unique strengths and potential fit with Columbia Law School.

While we cannot speculate as to the final outcome of your candidacy, we wish to inform you that yours is one of a select group of applications placed on Hold and that you will be given every possible consideration as the season continues. Consistent with our admissions protocol, some applicants may ultimately be offered admission, some will be placed on Reserve, and others will be informed that their application for admission has been denied.

In the interim, you may also submit an updated academic transcript, if applicable, through March 31, 2011, to supplement your application while it is under review by our Committee. However, if during this time you decide that you no longer wish to be considered for admission to Columbia Law School, kindly notify us by contacting our Assistant Director of Admissions, Danielle Flores, at XXXXXX. Please be advised that you will receive a decision from the Committee no later than April 22, 2011.

Thank you again for your patience. We look forward to being in touch with you as soon as the Committee has rendered a decision.

Warmly,

E. Nkonye Iwerebon
Dean of Admissions

Held. Kind of surprised as I was expecting then to laugh in my face. I've become the recent queen of the waitlist/hold. Sucks to be me.

Only I can edit the spreadsheet. PM me or post your stats and whether or not you're a URM or not. If you want, also include your submit/complete dates :) Thanks guys!

This hold feels much better than the Northwestern hold and I appreciate that they give us a hard date for a decision.

Held. Surprised I didn't get outright dinged or reserved considering my other decisions. Is my app THAT weird?

Wondering this as well...If we submitted in early November or earlier, does this mean we are either accepted or rejected?

Also on hold here. Got the email at 4pm. URM so this is good news. I know it says you can send in updated transcripts but I plan to send in an LOCI and some updated job info -- promotion etc. Here is to wishful thinking!

They ran out of binders and envelopes because of the snow store so they are waiting for more to be shipped in?
