See what I was talking about when I said US News is starting to distort younger people/and those who don't know about law school's perception of Chicago? You now have people classifying a school that is only out placed by HYS (and barely out placed by Stanford at that) into the same group as Penn and UVA. Making it even worse they actually are so sure that their assertion of Chicago as a "middle" top 14 that they are calling you a troll. Chicago needs to get on the ball with this US News thing, even though the people who count the most in the short term (hiring partners, law firms, government agencies, legal academics) know it's on a par with Columbia many current applicants do not.

What's really bad is that that poster said Chicago was a middle top 14 on par with UVA and Penn, with such certainty that people who are looking for honest information, and don't realize that that poster doesn't know what they are talking about, will take them seriously.

Are you shitting me? It is a middle T14 (it is not #1, 2 or 3 is it?, it is also not #12, 13 or 14 right?) I was giving some useful information and I only listed those three because those were the first three schools whose yield rate I looked up. My information was regarding Yield Rate not its ranking. And Chicago's yield rate is right around 28%.

The comment, though partially aimed at your grouping of Chicago with the actual middle top 14 schools, was mostly in response to the poster who called hopeful a "troll" for hinting that Chicago was not in fact in the same group as Penn. Still understand that when most people on here talk about being in a certain area within the rankings they mean in "real life" as opposed to US News. Anyway that's not the purpose of this thread so let's just leave it at that.

Yep. Complete 10/23, UR 11/11, UR again 12/3. RD.

I've been focusing so much on Berkeley and Michigan I keep on forgetting about Penn and UVA.

Then if all the numbers we are hearing are correct, ED has a considerably LOWER acceptance rate, despite having no YP issues.

I think hopeful is a troll because a) he spends time in multiple threads, trolling, like telling kids in the NYU thread that he got in, and calling CLS a degree mill that will drop out of the T14 in the CLS thread, and b) he goes into other (non-Chicago) threads just to make comments about Chicago. But thanks for the lecture on the Real World.

There are 6 ED acceptances on LSN from last year, so if there are a total of 15, that's 40% of the ED class. If nothing else, it makes that data a little easier to extrapolate from.
