Re: Notre Dame c/o 2019 Applicants
FYI, for the date changers, on one of my date changes (back in December; I applied in October), I suddenly had my deposits pop up. So that's a good indicator of acceptance if you have a date change or a 'decision made' without an email. My acceptance email didn't actually come until two days later, for whatever reason.

figured I'd look into what it'll cost to attend asw in a few weeks... there goes that, the flight alone is over 500 and thats with crazy inconvenient times -_- and a 10 hr drive wouldn't be much fun either

Don't fly to South Bend. It's too expensive. Fly to Chicago.Smallville wrote:figured I'd look into what it'll cost to attend asw in a few weeks... there goes that, the flight alone is over 500 and thats with crazy inconvenient times -_- and a 10 hr drive wouldn't be much fun either

+1 I'm flying into Chicago from CA and it's half the price of flying into South Bend.TirantMartorell wrote:Don't fly to South Bend. It's too expensive. I can't afford too many trips. Decided to go for the USC one and if ND ups their offer I'll take a separate one out to ND. The ND travel stipend from the east coast was only 250 for meSmallville wrote:just booked my flight for asw, who else plans on going?

I hear ya, its tough, was trying to figure out the best flights and that for hours last night -_- was killer, ending up missing work Thursday too so I'm there from the start on Friday. Where on the east coast? Im NY and got $400, though an extra $100 would make this so much more bearable.sjp200 wrote:

technically still need to figure out where I wanna stay lol, the cheap places go down to like $50 a night but reviews are scary (no surprise for $50 a night) but wanna try and spend as little as possible

That's odd, I got $250 and I live in CA. Considered negotiating the stipend lolsjp200 wrote:South Jersey. So mileage wise it's basically the sameSmallville wrote:nicecrystallize wrote:I am!Smallville wrote:just booked my flight for asw, who else plans on going?

Re: Notre Dame c/o 2019 Applicants
hmm thats weird, should try seeing if you can get more out of them for it, they're out of their minds if they think we can get there from here with $250... barely covers the flight if you're luckysjp200 wrote: South Jersey. So mileage wise it's basically the same
yeah same goes for you lol its insane, and since south bend sucks we're practically forced to rent a car adding more $ to the trip its crazycrystallize wrote:

wish my buddies planning on going to LS were also thinking ND to split some costs lol, struggle is real

Re: Notre Dame c/o 2019 Applicants
So I appealed my initial scholarship offer a few weeks back, and they upped it to about half. It isn't comparable to Emory's offer ($$), but I really like NDLS, and I really want to make it work. WUSL came in ($$$) the day AFTER I got the appeal response email last week. Has anyone (successfully) appealed an appeal offer or is that not worth it/appropriate to do?

You could always call and ask if they do it as they wouldn't know who is calling. And have you visited yet?hellofriends wrote:So I appealed my initial scholarship offer a few weeks back, and they upped it to about half. I visited last spring but both of my siblings went to ND for undergrad, so I'm really familiar with the schoolSmallville wrote:You could always call and ask if they do it as they wouldn't know who is calling. gotcha, was gunna say you could always go and talk to them in person about what they could do.hellofriends wrote:I visited last spring but both of my siblings went to ND for undergrad, so I'm really familiar with the schoolSmallville wrote:You could always call and ask if they do it as they wouldn't know who is calling. I finally got my BU neg back, offered 25k which is a little disappointing since they used my 40k here to come up with that so while all things equal I'd prob pick BU, ND is looking more likely

Re: Notre Dame c/o 2019 Applicants
thought I'd update ya, just got an email back regarding my travel stipend. I replied to the email approving my $400 asking for more as it is an expensive trip coming from NY to which they bumped it to $500 so definitely worth asking.crystallize wrote:
