Hey while we're passing time.....

When did you go complete and how many days have you waited?

Complete: 12/1; 65 days

Very similar - I think I'm at 55 days. I'm starting to think Texas will be the school to finally deliver a decision after I've already passed my first deposit deadlines at other schools.

Im similar as well complete 12/4 so 62 days

Any of you with 50+ day wait at or above medians?

LOL. Complete 11/5.... so today is day 90. I knew I should've called the infomercial to get P90x. Could've at least been ripped and impatient right now instead of just impatient.

GPA barely under 25th.

Ha you're funny. I'm telling myself once I figure out where I'm going to LS, I'm gonna get ripped.

Are you on the east coast? Looking at your numbers I'm thinking yield protect maybe. At 90 days, have you considered a LOCI?

Yup. East coast. Wrote quite a bit in my PS about "Why Texas" but I guess maybe a LOCI would be good. Although honestly it would take a bit of money to draw me away from a few T14 offers.

Could everyone here using LSN make sure you are updating under the 2015-16 cycle, so many people are using the default (for obvious reasons) which is still set to last year!

OOS applicant, submitted mid-December and preemptively emailed a "why texas" a couple days later-- got an email requesting an interview this morning... Wondering if I should've waited on the why texas. Anyone interviewed with ut? This will be my first and I'm feeling the nerves!

Have you done it yet? This seems to be a fairly new thing. I know they've done a very limited number for 1L admission in the past but I get the impression they were reserved for very special borderline cases.

And in the last two transfer cycles they've been doing them fairly regularly, they are generally quite informal, and they almost always admit the person shortly thereafter. The transfer interviews seem to be more about making sure the person has a pulse and is not a psycho than anything else.

I'm sure many here will be eager to hear the outcome.

Received an email last night. It'll be an in person interview with a Texas alum in my area (Southern CA). I'm waiting to hear from the alum to set it up, I'll report back after!

Nope, not yet... I responded to the email asking for permission to give my contact info to an alum on 1/26. Email said the alum would contact me to set up a time but I haven't heard, I plan to give it until mid next week and then call the admissions office to make sure I don't need to do anything but wait. I feel like they're going to keep filling their seats while I'm sitting on my ass waiting to hear from the alum

Let me know how your interview progresses...hopefully you hear back faster!

Also, while I'm OOS, my husband is active duty military and if we were to go to UT (he is applying as well) we would be detailed there by the Army and would qualify for in-state. Do you think this would be worth bringing up during the interview? As in, could it increase our odds?

Once he gets orders sending him to Texas, you can get a form signed by your commander and bring it to UT finaid and they are legally obligated to give you instate tuition. Defninitely bring up that you're both applying there during your interview. You won't get the in-state bump for admissions however.

I got snubbed as an in state active duty serviceman, but with your LSAT you'll be fine. They're all about the LSAT this cycle and with you getting an interview I'm sure it's a good thing. Good luck!

Yeah, incredibly enticing for T14. But then again if they show me the money...

Although I doubt they will. Don't have the greatest numbers (lackluster GPA) so I imagine I wont qualify for any huge award

As of this year there were about twelve veterans at the law school. That includes professors. I'm an Air Force vet and I start in August, good luck to you two...always nice to see fellow vets doing well.

I think it may have something to do with the new dean. I had so many people tell me they were reverse-splitter friendly, but that hasn't been the case at all this cycle.

And thank you for you words of encouragement. I know deep down that UT is the place for me and I have to keep the faith.
