Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I submitted last month and just got an email today that no off–campus interviews would be matched again until after the new year; they gave me the option to request to do their online video interview or opt–out of the interview. Should I ask to move to the online interview or forgo the interview altogether or just stick it out? I hate the video interview format, so I guess I should really ask if the interview is worth enough that I should further delay my application being processed.

I'd wait if I were you. If you're not comfortable with the video format, it might be more beneficial to just hold out.Are Dead wrote:I submitted last month and just got an email today that no off–campus interviews would be matched again until after the new year; they gave me the option to request to do their online video interview or opt–out of the interview. Wow, they were nicer to you than to me. I asked if I could switch from online to an alum interview, and they essentially just said "nope, no switching! You can do the online interview or nothing at all". lolAre Dead wrote:I submitted last month and just got an email today that no off–campus interviews would be matched again until after the new year; they gave me the option to request to do their online video interview or opt–out of the interview. I'm really hoping they release tomorrow and not the same day Star Wars officially comes out lol. I'm fully anticipating being held over to regular decision or outride denied so I'm setting myself in for the long wait.

If you are moved to RD from ED - does anyone know how long you typically wait again to hear?

Honestly I'm kind of expecting it to come out on Friday so that Johann can used a Star Wars-themed announcement tweet....Alpal29 wrote:I'm really hoping they release tomorrow and not the same day Star Wars officially comes out lol. Had my off-campus interview today. Pretty sure it went as bad as it possibly could have. It felt like the interviewer was actually trying to talk me out of going to law school. Definitely did not like that I wanted to do PI (without having any PI or even legal work experience, so for NU I guess it's understandable, with their emphasis on work experience). But it was just a totally gutting experience overall. I honestly think that it just ruined my chances at NU entirely.
Uh.. but.. you know... everyone else's off-campus interviews have been super laid back apparently! So don't let this worry anyone else!

Yeah, I don't expect any movement on a regular ol' Thursday, December 17, 2015. (reverse-jinx)

They're probably coming today or tomorrow, right? The first wave's never come after the third week of December in the last ~5 years IIRC.

Do they usually release both ED and RD or just ED this first wave?

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
FWIW, I wouldn't call mine laid-back. The interviewer definitely had guidance on the questions to ask - seems like they were really making sure you had a clear 'why law?', what is your work/management experience? etc. My interviewer was pretty tough through those questions. After we got past the first bit the interview relaxed some. It was definitely the most structured of any interview I've done so far in this process.nicknar wrote:Had my off-campus interview today. Good luck and I wouldn't stress too much over it!

Someone earlier in the thread told me ~2 years ago there was a small wave of RD decisions that followed the ED first wave (a few days later).biddymulligan wrote:Do they usually release both ED and RD or just ED this first wave?

Anyone have any idea what the timeline is for people rolled into RD from ED?slippin_jimmy wrote:Someone earlier in the thread told me ~2 years ago there was a small wave of RD decisions that followed the ED first wave (a few days later).biddymulligan wrote:Do they usually release both ED and RD or just ED this first wave?

I panned through some of the 2018 thread, looks like some ED->RD kids heard back mid-Jan.robertloblawslawblog wrote:Anyone have any idea what the timeline is for people rolled into RD from ED?slippin_jimmy wrote:Someone earlier in the thread told me ~2 years ago there was a small wave of RD decisions that followed the ED first wave (a few days later).biddymulligan wrote:Do they usually release both ED and RD or just ED this first wave?
