Interview was super positive, I actually really enjoyed it :D Incredibly friendly people over there. Mostly personal questions and some bonding over shared experiences. Lasted less than 15 minutes. Congrats to everyone else who wrapped up their interviews today!

Nothing mentioned about when we'll hear back. Really hoping it's before New Years! Or before December...

I would be ecstatic if they would return to giving out first decisions in late November, and am holding out a shred of hope for that. If not I really hope that they at least stay consistent with last year's cycle and go mid-december. If decisions don't come out until after New Years... I will not be having a holly jolly christmas.

A js2 before Christmas and I won't be sober between Christmas Eve and New Years day.

Of course, if I get dinged I'll probably end up just as drunk if not more so.

My interview experience more or less matches the others I've seen. I was asked some very probing questions about my work. This caught me off guard, but I hope it worked in my favor. It's my home turf after all.

Concerning the decision date: Before asking me anything, my interviewer said that we're very early in the process, and that decisions could take a while. I suspect these questions came frequently over the course of the day and that it was being anticipated, but I have no idea if it was a signal that this year will be later than previous ones.

First post!

I got my JS1 (I think I got the terms right lol) on Tuesday. Is there a way to know how many people have received it so far?
Also, how soon after the interviews do decisions start coming in?

Is this the first year they've explicitly stated that decisions will come out in the new year? Or is it some sort of official protocol that is repeated at the end of JS1s every year?

I haven't gone back through past years' threads, but I think it's safe to assume they don't say this every year...this is a pretty sensible change this year, too, given uptick in LSAT takers.

In regards to the timeline of admissions decisions, a recent article from the HLS admissions blog may shed some light on the matter. The article, written by Dean Soban, addresses the rolling admissions process. It concludes with this:

"It’s possible to apply in October, receive an interview invitation in November, and have an admissions decision in January. It’s also possible that you may not hear from us for several months. Either way, we are doing our best to carefully evaluate each aspect of your application and compare you against the other applicants in the pool as it grows over the course of the cycle."

While it is of course nothing unusual, it seems to still be pointing towards January as one of the earliest possible times to hear back. It's noteworthy as well that it's posted on November 2nd, the day before the first interviews.

Hope this helps a bit!

For k-jds out there. These are the questions I was asked last year at my JS1

What was your experience like at your undergrad?
Why did you pick your undergrad? (Talked about experiential learning)
What type of law are you interested in? Why?
If you could not do law school for a year what would you do? (Told theI would work for a year and reapply haha)
What was your greatest achievement at your undergrad?
What have you been doing since graduation? (I was a January grad, interviewed in Feb, and told them I wasnt really doing anything special other than looking for a job).
Any questions for me? (I asked about a clinic and professor I was interested in.)

I was a K-JD so a lot of my qs were related to that. And there were a few more qs but this is what I can remember.

I was going to ask how u got away with saying you weren't doing anything special aside looking for a job. Then I saw your jaw dropping stats. Speaks louder than anything. Congrats :-)
